Lundmark back in the NHL

Signed with the Flames, he also played there for a little while before going to Russia last season. Could be a useful 3rd-4th line player. Oh if he and Brendl actually panned out......instead...

and if a cat barked it may be a dog...

Glad to see him back in the NHL. Still a lot more disappointed in this kid than Brendl. Thought Jamie actually had the drive and ambition to be an NHLer. Thought he was a hard-worker. In the end, I think he thought things would come easy for him. It's a shame. Also, the one time I saw the kid, he was tiny. Perhaps that's also a reason why it didn't work out - it's fine to be tiny playing against 15, 16 and 17 year olds, but not against NHLers.

I thought this was a signing to help Quad City and not necessarily indicative of a spot with the NHL club.

I hope that "PS" stands for PlayStation... and I applaud your skill for handling it with one hand.

Good for him, I remember him back down here in Hartford and how he was referred to by his teammates as "Beavis"

I can see it

Signing an NHL contract with the Flames doesn't mean he'll be playing in the NHL. Finished in the AHL last year--did not look like a real good year. IMO he never showed nearly enough grit.

He's like 27 years old, of course he wouldn't give up this young. What else does he have to do with his time? He's got talent but he isn't nearly worth the #1 pick we wasted on him. But I don't blame him, I blame Neil Smith for grossly overrating him that year. The 1999 draft was pretty bad and we came up with two top ten busts!

Check it out for yourself:

There really isn't much in that draft that we could say we missed out on. It's not like 2003 and the Jessiman bust.

Ouch! The whole 1st round is busted. Only Connolly, Havlat and the Sedins are somewhat respectable. Best player in the entire draft is Henrik Zetterberg from the SEVENTH round.

Very true. Rough year for the entry draft. You can honestly say that North America didn't produce a single All-Star from that entire draft. The best players were the Sedin Twins, Havlat and Zetterberg. The rest are just filler players like Connolly, Comrie, etc.

I'm not sure if I'm more upset about us having two top-10 busts, or about the fact that the year we finally had 2 top-10 picks happened to be one of the weakest draft pools in memory.

I still can't believe Brendl didn't pan out. Look at the guy's pre-draft numbers...Couldn't he have at least been a serviceable NHL player for us??!!
