Eastern Conference
Ovechkin, Crosby ,Kessel , Green and DAN GIRARDI
wow to be mentioned in an article with those guys!!
the accent of the new NHL is speed and skill
Western Conference
Kane, Gagner Kesler, Phaneuf and Enstrom

These are 10 players , five from each conference that represent the new NHL.

I think they're on crack. Girardi isn't quick, and he shouldn't be spoken about if your talking about Ovechkin and Crosby.

In fact, neither should Kessel.

Even though I'm one of the few to sport a girardi jersey, :p, hes got some speed, but not as speedy as someone who should have been put in a category with Crosby and Ovechkin

So they got Dan Girardi mixed up with Dan Jansen; I mean, who doesn't?

It isn't just the speed of their skating , it was referring also to how their skill is suited to the new NHL with no hooking holding etc. . Maybe in the case of Girardi they appreciate his hockey intelligence and skill. At least the writer of the article does even if NY fans don't.
Ranger fans don't appreciate anyone. only looking for the negative in everything and everyone.
I only thought that Ranger fans would be proud to have one of their own players mentioned in the article. I guess I was wrong.
Maybe the whole post should be removed.
The rule on this sight should be only post bad things about our players.

You said it is about killing with speed not skating effectiveness in the new NHL.

Possibly the bulk of us understand that to put Girardi in a class of skating prowess with some of the others is just plain laughable. It's like the quizzes where you are asked to pick the one that doesn't belong.

Girardi as one of the fastest young players??? I don't see it at all. He's a quality defenseman but I wouldn't group him in with those other guys. That's why the Hockey News sucks. They probably saw him play in one game where he rushed the puck up the ice and now he's being mentioned in the same breath as Ovechkin and Crosby, the last two MVPs of the league. What a joke!
