He's UFA but Wings' GM hope to sign him along with Filpulla (sp?).

You DO realize that at the time of the trade, Roy was coming off a poor playoff in 1994 followed by a very poor season in 1995 during which the team missed the playoffs?

The return was much too little, but trading him (given his attitude) was not such a surprise. Serge Savard had a deal ready two months earlier, but with more in return.

I'm telling you, he's coming here. And when he does, Ronald Corey will stop patronizing all Greek restaurants.

Seriously though, I think Lapierre wore #26 in Hamilton, but Gorges has it, so let's just eswitch it and give Lapierre #62. Would fit him well for a 4th liner. Tanguay gets his #40. As for Laraque he gets #72. What do you think?

Tanguay #81 looks good too.

Well, it's not so much that he likes 13, it's that he likes 18. But 13, on the back of a jersey, looks pretty close to 18. He wants it cause it's a look-a-like.

Ted Drury, a journeyman checking line center who retired awhile back, also had #18 as his first choice. But he never really got a chance to wear it on the clubs he was on and often reverted to #13 for the same reason.

Kevin Weekes started wearing #80 for awhile because it looked like #00, his first choice. However, in the NHL, #00 isn't allowed, so Weekes took #80.

That's what I'm hoping for, since I'm not too fond of #67.

Wasn't there a goalie who used to wear #00 at All-Star games in the 90s?

John Davidson wore #00 for the Rangers for a season or two. Ed Belfour wore #00 at the All-Star game because Mike Vernon had his (then) number 30.

Martin Biron, when he first came up with Buffalo wore #00, but switched to #43 when the NHL banned zero and double zero.

The day it was announced that BGL would be wearing #17, I saw someone wearing one of those Habs t-shirts (the ones everyone had in the playoffs) with a "LARAQUE #17" on the back.
