So lets me see...lets say John Daley was better than Tiger last yr and still weighed the same would he be considered the best athlete? When i think of an athlete i think of football,basketball,hockey and baseball players...not golfers...Michael Phelps would have something to say about their nomination.

I guess u never played golf before and the fact he won the US Open on one leg is why hes the best athlete on earth. He makes golf looks easy but its not.

If Phelps dominates the Olympics he will be consider for the Best Male Athlete next year.

Golf is a leisure event plain and simple. When you think of an athlete you think of someone who gets into physical condition to compete. With golf you could be anywhere from 150lbs to 300+ lbs and still play the game at a high level...that in my mind is not an athlete.
