OT: Tornado In Montreal?

They just announced on CKAC that a tornado-like structure was creeping up toward Old Montreal. It was first said by C.A. Marchant I think it is, and then the guy who does the traffic reports confirmed the sighting.

We had a very strong but short storm here in Sorel just a couple hours ago, wonder if it's related.

Cedric L.McNicoll, a player from the Shawinigan Cataractes, is right now in Boucherville, and just told me that :

- McnicoLL - 11 - says (14:49):
- McnicoLL - 11 - says (14:50):
mais c comme une tornade

In english..:

It's from the St-Laurent, he was in his car and called his parents because he freaked out. It's like a tornade, but called a «trombe marine» because it started on water. Go and check on meteomedia.com

Suggestions from someone who lives at the end of Tornado Alley (Nashville, TN)

get to the basement/storm cellar and make sure you have a thick blanket so the glass doesn't shatter on you

Gillis is probably about to call Sundin to say that there's tornadoes in Montreal, it's way too dangerous to sign there now....

Damn...a few weeks ago I think I was in a park (I don't remember my location) and I received some dust or sand in the eyes coming from the wind. At first I thought it was just leaves flying, doing circles like I've seen many times, but it was a bit bigger than my height, it wasn't in the corner of a building or anywhere where winds often go in circles, and it literally lifted most of the things on the ground in its area. It passed right beside me and I felt the power it had and it kept on going forward. A mini-tornado. Of course it couldn't have lifted me or anything like that but it was still impressive. It was just like a toy version of a tornado

It would have went SLUUUUUUUUUURP with your organ and then you'd be diminished to a monastic life and peeing in a white bag attached to your entrails.

Nah, it's like when you put it in a vacuum cleaner, kinda. Just more tornado-ish.

Is it supposed to come over or did the alert passed by?

I'm working in the Old Montreal (Place Jacques-Cartier) and I've seen nothing so far...

Might put little spice in a boring day, though
