Lmao they called him a sniper. I'll just be happy if he keeps puck possession and checks the other team into next week.

That would have been a really fun game to watch.

That third goal was SWEET.

coming from an oilers fan,

big george was amazing at his role. the guy brought so much energy to the locker room and played his role perfectly in his limited amount of ice time. i really wanted him back this year but i am glad that he went to the Canadiens and not somewhere in the Northwest.

He'll help toughen up that Eastern conference

From another Oiler fan:

Laraque at time (more frequently then not) wouldn't fight. He and the coach had some differences, though he would never go public with that information it was common knowledge here. Also he wanted a NTC and Lowe was adamant about not giving those away easily. Especially not to 4th liners.

Regardless, Laraque is the premiere heavy weight in the NHL. He also is one of the best guys for media and the best charity guy around. He has a big heart and wants to win.

Hockeywise, he can control and entire shift down low in the oppositions end in the corners and behind the net. he controls the boards so well and takes valuable time off the clock, no on e can move him off the puck, he's just that strong. He can play hockey well enough to take regular shift in the NHL and thats better then most enforcers, he's a team guy and will make everyone on that roster grow about 2 inches and 20 pounds when he's on the ice.

What some people don't realise yet about Laraque is that he can keep the puck in the other team's zone for an entire shift some times
...and he'll draw a penalty about 1 in every 5 times which is pretty good too. You guys will love having him on the team. Sometimes he can be frustrating because he doesn't fight very often but a lot of that has to do with the fact that people don't want to fight him. A lot of people don't realize that just his presence on the bench is usually enough to keep the other teams tough guy in check. He only had 13 fights last season but how many cheap shots were taken on the Pens star players? No major incidents that I can think of.

Why would the numbers for Laraque and Tanguay now be blank on the Canadiens official website? Yesterday they were 17 and 40 respectively. I can see taking Tanguay's off because he hasn't yet picked one and Lapierre already wears 40, but why would Laraque's be gone.

Habs roster page

An article on the Official Canadiens site clearly stated that this is Laraque's new #

And the number is...

Just wierd.

Laraque is reincarnation of Genghis Khan... he was prophesized to come back for the conquest of the 100th Habs Stanley Cup.
