I played for 9 years...

my last year was 2002 (Midget BB)
played for St Leonard the whole time and we would win the playoffs every year.

my last year, we lost 6 games total...1 in the season, 1 in the finals of a tournament, 1 in the semi finals of a tournament, 2 in the tournament of champions and game 1 of the best of 5 regional finals....game 2,3,4..we won by mercy rule.

I miss it, big time!

funny you bring baseball up because the guys I played with every year called me yesterday, they wanna organise a supper to remember the good ol days.

I haven't played since I was 16 or 17 but I loved it. I've been thinking about starting up again though. Right now it's slo-pitch for me. Stupid curve balls.

Only the Little League associations are dying.

Lac Saint Louis Baseball (federated with Baseball Quebec) is enjoying an 8% increase in membership this year!

St Leonard baseball is dead.

after my last year, it slowly, slowly got worst.
Its down to the point where I think they have 5 or 6 teams total.

They are taking all the fiels out too, turning them into soccer fields.

Sad

Baseball is such a technical sport, as much as everyone leads you to believe that its a lazy sport, that it would help out alot of kids. Not saying that soccer isnt, but baseball is a game of human chess at times.

Baseball in st-leo is pretty much dead, you can grab a field anytime you want.

I played for like 10 years before I stopped, I wasn't bad. After that I decided to take courses to be an Umpire, I did it for 6 years.

I threw my arm out when I was 15.

Kids, when your parents and coaches tell you not to throw curveballs until your muscles are developed...don't throw curveballs until your muscles are developed.

Yes baseball seems to be slowly losing ground to soccer. Must be pretty healthy in BC though with all the pros coming from there

I only ever played slow-pitch. My son played hardball for 9 years. He was pretty good but only wanted to play for fun and quit after he was 20. His team made it to the Provincial champs in Ont 3 years of those 9.

Best memory was his last visit. He was pitching and playing 3rd. Only 3 pitchers could make the tournament. He had to start 2 games and close one. The one he closed he struck out the side in the 7th to eliminate the top seeded team. We still have that ball.

I have been to hundreds of pro games but that one was my favourite.

I was a pitcher, not good and I never played organised, only with friends.

The baseball field I played on has been turned into an Iron ore piles deposit by Rio Tinto.

Yeah, but that's not where I played.

I played in St-Joseph district, near Pie X street.
