I went with how I play in real life, but I could play LH, I suck ass with RH on NHL anyway. Also if too many people want to be play making centers, I can be a 3rd line energy forward. Speedy + defensively responsable. Kelly type guy I suppose.

unless they find a way to make it fun to play with the goalie

but agreed, i think most games will be 5v5 with 2 AI goalies.

Is everyone using their actual names? Because I'm leaning towards playing some guy or another from an EHM career instead.

Yeah, looks llike a lot of centers. Glory hounds!

Maybe I should play what I usually play in RL, defense.

I would play D, but I often get burned in NHL. We'd lose every game for sure if I was on D.

I decided to be a responsible individual and make an Excel spreadsheet just in case that someone ****s up the list. I've also made myself a left handed shot and C/LW, in case too many people wanna play C.

I'll use my name, I have the most common french name in the book. Funny that I'm anglo and don't speak french lol.

To give you an update on my guy:

I'll be a big right D, right handed shot/stick. I can play left tho at the worst, in NHL I'm pretty good on D, not great on offense tho, so it makes sense for me to go D, I also have a friend whos really good who could play and will signup to HF prolly if we do this

Need to get my 360 repaired still tho

I need to get my 360 repaired as well (Disk Drive) it's 99$ and it'll only take 2 weeks...I'll definitely have it for NHL 09.

Edit: Oh and will you be Offensive Dman or Defensive D? And What's your name/age/number?

RROD is when the XBOX overheats. I don't know anyone who's had it happen to them. Personally the only thing that's happened to me is the Disc Drive ****ing up (twice). That's with 3 years of having a 360...not that bad though, it'll be 99$ I spend on fixing it and will cover the box for an extra year...

Are you serious? We never had those kind of problems with the N64 and the PS lol.
Is the Ps3 more reliable? The Xbox seems it has reliability problems.. Which of the Xbox of Ps3 would be the best buy?

I've had my Xbox for 1.5-2 years and haven't had any problems...I've heard other people have had to send their Xbox back like 5 times though. So it's a crapshoot. I would say the PS3 is definitely more reliable, but the Xbox has a better game selection and better live features (I have both an Xbox and a PS3 so I'm pretty impartial I think).

Personally I would go with the Xbox, at least.

Hard to say. I don't like the feel of the PS3 controllers. NHL series on the Ps3 are CRAP to me. They use 29 FPS, while the 360 uses 60 FPS, which comes out much smoother.

Some people don't notice it, but I think it looks choppy/laggy. I can't play it at all.

If you're going to buy a system mainly to play NHL, then go for the 360 for sure. RROD is covered with a 3 year warantee and generally if there is a problem with your xbox, you'll get another one sent back to you within 2 weeks. Microsoft is very good for that.

Having said that, the Playstation is without a doubt more reliable. Some people have had 360s without problems for years...but it's track record isn't too good.

The price of the 360 just went down 50$ as well, so it's more affordable. With that extra 50$ you might want to invest in a 3 year warantee, just in case your disk drive ****s up like mine has

There, all registered.

For some guy who lives in Quebec, making a player from Pilot Butte is pretty damn random.
Mike Brand is a regen I took a liking to during a stint as Saskatoon Blades GM.

If it's mainly for NHL, you'd be crazy not to go XBOX 360...trust me.

Every time I play it on the PS3, I feel like I'm on a nintendo 64...It's unplayable to me. The least-smooth game I've ever played.

Why they put it at 29 FPS? I have no freaking clue...

Edit: OH, I just read that they are making the Ps3 version of NHL 09 at 60 FPS...So discard what I just said.

I'm a right handed shot, but I might make myself LH shot in the game since I'll be playing left wing and I find myself more comfortable with left handed shots in NHL 08
