I am kinda surprised that didn't come up already...

Alot of these thread titles are funny, and i know this one is morbid, but i was wondering what would be the course of action for the team and/or the league if this happened.. How would we get players and re-stock? Would there be something like an Expansion draft, or we get tons of picks, or what?
This is a truly horrible scenario, and i see alot of people are superstitious in talking about these things, so sorry, its curiosity...

My top 3.

3) Marc Staal and a 1st to Montreal for Alex Kovalev.
2) Henrik Lundqvist retires to pursue career in fashion.
1) Sidney Crosby hired as drama & diving coach.

No, we want to see that one. Jeez, read the ******* title.

If we were looking for headlines we want to see, it'll be more like:

Orr, Jessiman, and a 5th in 2010 to the Capitals for Alex Ovechkin

The spring of 2010:

- Lundqvist forced to retire from hockey due to his injury.

- The Rangers deal Marc Staal and a 2nd for Rick DiPietro.

- Rangers eliminated in the 1st round of the playofs by last years Stanley Cup Champions. Sidney Crosby got the game winner late in the 3rd period on a breakaway when Wayne Redden turned over the puck in the neutral zone.

- New York Rangers select Stanley Cooper with the 14th overall pick in this years entry draft. Cooper is an offensive deffenseman with great hands and speed. Has questionable upside in his own end. Played with Tavares for 2 years and put up decent numbers.

- Chris Pronger signed a 38millUSD/4 year contract on the 1st of july. The 36 year old Pronger is thrilled to be a Ranger.

"Mike Keenan announced new head coach for New York Rangers."

Two weeks later...

"Henrik Lundqvist requests trade, chased out of town by new head coach: 'I can't perform under these conditions.'"
