Detroit is a team that could be a darkhorse and I would prefer to see Jay in the West. Take out Samuelsson though - no interest in having him a 2nd time when Martin couldn't figure out what to do with him the first time.

Oh, and Keenan made the Luongo trade, not Martin. Though the Jokinen trade was JM's first blunder and an indication that when it comes to dealing he may not be much better than Keenan.
Actually, Florida aquired Samuellson from Pitt in the draft day swap of the 1st overall for the 3rd overall. I think he signed in Detroit as a free agent. I wouldn't see the team wanting him back, as he was a mediocre 3rd liner before going to Detroit.

You are right - we blasted management for that trade and then we let him go for nothing! Typical Panthers.

As usual, Florida doesn't have much leverage here. Bouwmeester will not garner nearly as much in a trade as 99% of you are saying. If we were at the trade deadline it would be another story, but we're not.
At about the same time every signing in the offseason isn't labeled 'overpayment'..

So, never....

First of all, the Wings do not need Bouwmeester to win. Second of all, Kronwall has proven what he can do, and he does it good. Third of all, why in the hell do you want Bouwmeester when you have Lidstrom?

If Holland wanted Bouwmeester, he'd have him right now.

Because when Lidstrom retires, Bouwmeester can become their #1 defenseman [I hope not.....].

well then my friend if I were you, I would start making said offer, because at this point calling you a fool would be doing you a favor in some regards. I would love to see your list of forward prospects if you have JVR as #1.
