Is your girlfriend a hockey fan

Stolen from the fylers board. Basically, is your girlfriend/boyfriend a hockey fan, and if so, what team does she like. My gf was a devil fan, but converted to the rangers after i took her to a game at the rock. She asked for a lundqvist jersey for her birthday which was a no-brainer purchase.

Lets go Rangers!

she is now

she's in PA, dead center between philly and pitt, but never got into hockey much. once i got on the scene though, she didn't have much choice. i made her watch like, every game with me and she started to like it, so it looks like a successful transformation. now we can date for real

Yep. She's actually an Aussie who landed in NYC a year and a half ago, who basically loves sports of all kinds - I introduced her to hockey when we started dating and now she's a big fan (likes baseball too, but is a bigger hockey fan).

Last night she asked me out of the blue when the Rangers' season starts up again. She rocks.

My fiance is a Rangers fan through osmosis.

Still a long ways a way from actually turning on MSG herself and watching a game though.

BUT - I turned my mother into a big fan, so im hoping through the years she will slowly fall into the blue...

If you think about it ... she actually has no choice.

During March/April this past year I got home a little late from the office on more than one occasion to find my gf seated on the couch with the game already on. Like I said, she rocks.

My girlfriend has about an unhealthy obsession with this team as I do... She always liked hockey, never had a real team to follow so I introduced her to the Ranges. Now she is in lock, stock and barrel. She took to Prucha during his rookie season so I surprised her with a jersey before an October game during his second season. She hasn't looked back since. We go to games or watch them on TV... she'll even DVR one to watch later if she can't watch it live...

No, but she seems intrigued by the game. We'll be going this fall! We're still a baby couple, so I haven't had much time to work on her.

My girlfriend is a huge Rangers fan. Her family is of Swedish ancestry so having Henrik Lundqvist as one of the stars of the team certainly helps.

My girlfriend claims she's a hockey fan. However, she only likes it when I have tickets to a game, otherwise she whines when I watch it on TV.

High maintenance..

Met her here in Pittsburgh, so naturally she's a Pens fan. Fits right in with all the other band wagoners.

My fiance was not a big fan, never really watched the sport, but did not dislike it. She started into it by dating me as I coach two youth hockey teams, and fell in love with it. Afterwards she started watching Rangers games with me, and now is a huge fan. Her favorite player is Lundqvist, whom she has on her cell phone wallpaper, .
Its ok though most of us have man-crushes on him too

I turned my gf into a hockey fan. In 2003 on our 3rd date I took her to a Sharks/'Lanche pre-season game. Man she asked some great questions lol.

"Why did they stop? What does that red light mean? Why are Colorado's players hugging?"

I got lucky. I met my boyfriend at a hockey game and he's Czech, so hockey and soccer are a given. Sadly, he's a Panthers fan, but he's cute, and Vokoun and Olesz are two of my favourite players, so I can forgive him that minor shortcoming.

My wife is not a fan per se, but happy to come to three or four games a year if my brother can't make it. She also *never* says a word if I'm watching a game on tv, more often than not she will watch it too.

She also bought a Rangers belly button ring, and has found herself talking hockey when I'm not around.

My wifes a rangers fan...and she wouldn't be my wife if she wasn't..
I've got to many years invested in this to have to kill someone for changing the channel while the game is on, or make some comment like "its just a game" after a playoff loss...anyone who would do those things is godless...

My bf turned me onto the rangers, and Ive clearly left him in the dust of 'casual fans'. All 8-10 games are purchased by me every year. It gets to a point where he starts to get annoyed if I buy too many games since its kinda a day long adventure to get down to a game.

Hm. Tough.
