You are definitely wrong. This would be a good deal for the Flyers, but I don't see it happening.

As a Jackets fan I wouldn't want to trade Hejda.

But what I'm thinking is, the Blue Jackets still lack offense and Knuble will help put pucks in the net. With the the Blue Jackets having Commodore, he can replace Hejda as the shutdown dmen.

They have Commodore, Klesla, Tyutin, Tollefsson, Backman, and Russell on defense as a top 6 if they traded Hejda.

I just don't understand why the Jackets throw in a pick.

We can all agree that elite EV Dmen face at least 15:00 TOI. Of that group he is one of seven 2.50GF/60 or greater; 2.00GA/60 or less in the whole league.

NAME POS TEAM GFON/60 GAON/60 +/-
M SCHNEIDER D ANA 2.6 1.27 23
JOHNY ODUYA D N.J 2.67 1.39 24
PAUL MARTIN D N.J 2.54 1.5 20
MAREK MALIK D NYR 2.99 1.63 15
N LIDSTROM D DET 3.56 1.64 41
KURT SAUER D COL 2.81 1.7 15
B RAFALSKI D DET 3.02 1.71 27
JAN HEJDA D CBJ 2.5 1.82 15
DUNCAN KEITH D CHI 2.69 1.98 17

He is Top 25 in hits in the league for Dmen

23rd Jan Hejda CBJ D 81gp 148Hits 90Bks

So he is top ten in GA as a defensive defenceman with offensive transition skill and close to a 150 hit 100Bk rtss Dman.

He is a heavy lifter on the Pk greater than 3:00 TOI. He ranks in the top 20 in Goals against.

He is the only Dman in the league with all these skills. The best complete defensive package for Dmen in the laugue.

As an oilers fan I am still pissed Klowe did not sign him.

But hey in your mind he is a third pairing Dman.

What a dumb.

Hejda has the best package of skills in the league? Yeah, sometimes I drink too.

This deal actually makes some sense to me:

Columbus' depth chart:

Nash, Umberger, Knuble

Modin, Brassard, Huselius

Voracek on the 3rd line. Since Hitch prefers to let rookies grow into their roles. Columbus has a lack of right wingers.

Makes zero sense to me. Try something more like:

Nash-Umberger-Huselius
Modin-Brassard-Torres

Voracek moves up in Torres' spot if he does well.

Columbus shouldn't do this. Keep Hejda, he's easily our best defenseman in my opinion. If we're trading anyone, make it Klesla or TKO... but please, not Hejda. I don't htink this rumor has any credibility, because Columbus has no need for another washed up forward (Fedorov, Cassels (although he was one of our best centers ever at that time ), Marchant....)

I can believe Columbus would be interested in Knuble. And as a fan, I'd be open to getting him, depending on the cost.

But I don't believe for one second that they'd trade Hejda for him.

Columbus gets ass-reamed by the Flyers again if this rumour is true.

I was expecting Hejda to get resigned at $4M/yr but he extended way before the UFA madness (April).

I dont see this happening. Flyers already have 7 d men on 1 way deals and Parent who should be playing on the Flyers. Itd be better to make a bigger deal like Knuble + Jones for someone. Not saying I dont like Hejda, but we need a Offensive guy, not a D minded guy. Already have Parent/Kukkonen/Vaananen. Maybe if its like Knuble + Kukkonen for Hejda.

Is Umberger really going to be the #1 center on that team? It's a solid top 6 from a winger perspective but they need a true playmaker to go with Nash.

I've heard rumblings of this, but I've heard that Hatcher is not on board with this. A few weeks ago I looked at Philly as a possible suitor for Kubina but they have to likely make a dump salary. What do Flyers fans think of...

To PHI:
Ponikarovsky / Mitchell / Colaiacovo ($3.8M cap hit)

To TOR:
Hartnell / Hatcher / Nodl ($7.7M cap hit)

After all Toronto needs a speedy D-man to replace Hal Gill.

The sens could take one of those RWs off your hands...
what would it take to get Hartnell?

how about hartnell for a 1st round pick?

Simple and helps both teams.

He is. There's currently two operating theories supporting this move:
1) Having some other decent players on that line would help because then the other team can't just pile on Nash and thus shut down our top line.
2) Huselius can be a pretty good playmaker, right? And he did pretty well with Iginla, whose playing style is very similar to Nash's.

For further enlightenment, see the quote in Skraut's signature.

They'll give it a big . Again, the Flyers don't need to dump salary in a trade unless for some reason they don't want to pay someone their NHL salary to play in the minors - and they're certainly not giving up Nodl at this point.

It doesnt matter if hatcher is on board. If he cant pass a physical thats his problem. As much as I love his heart, he needs to quit before he screws up his legs forever.
