Completely agree and I love Dubi. On the other hand, this is NY...so anything is possible.

Okay, just stop. Horton signed 6 years for $4MM per. So, that's $4MM per.

In order to get that, he:

a) achieved ~30 goals two straight years going into the negotiation
b) gave up at least two years of UFA status.

So when Dubi scores around 30 goals for two straight years and agrees to give up at least his first two years of UFA status, THEN we can look for him to receive a deal that pays him $4MM+ per year.

For him to get that kind of money next year (given that this past year his numbers were equivalent to Horton's 3 years before his deal), he would probably have to do a PPG next year.

I understand that some people don't like Redden, Drury, etc. (or more specifically their contracts) and even more hate Sather... but please look at what contracts get handed out to which players at what age with what statistics over how many years - and with how many RFA years left - before predicting contracts like this for our kids.

For more information please refer to http://hfboards.com/showthread.php?t=539103. There's a reason I put the work into that thread that I did!!! Grrr.

Okay, rant ended.

As to the question at hand... I predict 50-60 points and a 2 year deal around $1.7MM-$2.0MM per.

2-2.5 for 3-5yrs would be good for me but it will depend on how well he does this season.
