He will try out for the rangers and probably make the wolfpack but then his overblown ego will kick in and he will hold out for a 15 dollar extra per day meal plan.

i never HATED nedved like most ranger fans i know. he never lived up to the expectations but he was a pretty good player for us. i wouldn't be upset if he made the team, we could use another vet. the guy can kill penalties......maybe he'll surprise us.

The beauty is you can send his ass home if that happens.

I'd rather have Shanahan sign half way through the season if thats the case. At least he gets his shot on net.

Because I believe he is done. But let's say he's good enough to knock some kid out of a 3rd or 4th line role, would you want this guy on your checking lines? IMO, Nedved is just one more feather in an already soft line-up.

Do you really see that happening?

Based on what? What has Tom Renney done to show you that this is a move that he would make?

Seems a little odd, but I'll reserve judgment until we see where he ends up.

Don't think it's the worst thing in the world. If he makes the team, it's because he was better than the other players-- If he doesn't, he goes home. No real harm there as far as I can tell.

They invited Anders Eriksson, Mark Smith, and some OHL walk-ons to camp during the last few years... i dont see how this is any different.

How many of them made it?

My most hated Ranger during the dark days by far.

I think giving him another shot is ridiculous, but it couldn't really hurt, if he made the team I would be angry, would rather see that kid he beat out on the third line playing 100% than Nedved dipsy-doodling at 40% every game. I respect the fact that he loves NYR and all, have no problem with him being in camp, but that is as far as this better go.

I was being facetious. I just don't like the move. Whether it's a camp invite or an offer to hand out towels on the bench during games, I'd rather we keep the Nedved chapter of Rangers History closed and not give it ANY opportunity to be re-opened. My opinion.

I stated why above, 40% in every game, the guy had the potential to be so much more and he never worked hard. He had the ability to at least get us those three or four points that we needed almost every year to at least sniff the playoffs, but he never cared.

I totally agree. I'm amazed at the fact some people think their opinion is worth so much more than an actual look see at training camp.

Well people's opinions are fine. But the rush-to-judgement on this is something I don't understand.

I guess I'm immediately responding to the people who's gut reaction was to complain about this.

Nedved, while far from being what we would have liked, was a good player and good guy here.

No need to kick dirt on him.
Considering how certain players who actually did/do very well for New York get all sorts of criticism it's no surprise that people are complaining when a guy who didn't do what he could have might make it back.

He worked hard. He took hits to make plays.

I guess my point is there were so many others who were worse citizens and worse producers than Nedved that I fail to see why he is the target of your ire.

Especially with the likes of Kamensky, K Stevens, Hathcer, Quintal, etc.

Its a no-risk, potential reward move. If Nedved can see it to playing wing, he could prove to be something. I'm not holding my breath but let's take a look.
