It is hard to really put any weight behind a post like this below. But it is interesting nonetheless, this was posted by a Canuck fan in the Tambellini thread on their board:

Tambellini also said that "no one is returning Gillis's phone calls".
Apparently, a lot of GM's don't have respect for the agent with no GM experience who came in and took the GM job at the expense of Nonis and Tambellini.
Maybe sour grapes, but if true it does not bode well for Gillis's ability to swing trades.

I'm pretty sure he was just talking about forwards.

Yeah, I saw that as well. If true, Gillis may find his tenure in Vancouver pretty short.

The ownership group there doesn't strike me as patient.

You have most of them right, however I would say the Wild Card would be Jacques or O'Marra.

O'Marra may be the Forgotten One as well and the Underdog will be Potulny although Reddox is a good guess. Corazzini is not on the radar for the big team.

Doesn't this list usually have some kind of standards?

I usually find this the best/most useful thread everyday, but it won't be if maundering drivel like that continues to be included.

With Guys blog entry. I think they throw Mathieu Roy down through waivers (and he likely clears). They have Strudwick as insurance plus if they run into lots of injuries there are guys like Peckham, Chorney, Bryan Young etc... that can fill in and probably do about as good a job as Roy (I actually like Roy but it is worth the risk to send him down) would. So I would go with 7 D to start the season.

Bookmarked.

I'll get it in the news/blog thread whenever appropriate if HA 101 sleeps in.

I didn't agree with a lot of the postings today in regards to the hiring. In fact there was really only one blog I happened to agree with in regards to the hiring.

But I don't think it is fair to only include the stuff I agree with or think is worthy. I am sure that my preferences and opinion may be different on this matter than someone else. I post them here because people like to have them in one place and I am happy to oblige but it is not up to me to decide what people consider entertaining or worthy. If fact I think that would be pretty egotistical!

I will filter stuff that might be one line news or really has nothing to do with the Oilers but I will not decide on which Oiler blog reporting on the Oilers is worthy for your consideration.

Whether you read it or not is your choice.

I think I am going to go out and a limb and speak for all of us.

We are excited for you and are looking forward to reading what you will have to say. I know we have a thread for this but what the hell.

Thanks for letting us know and congratulations!

Nice article Guy and the fact that your take on the move are exactly the same as mine has nothing to do with my flattery. I have also bookmarked you.

One of the great things about being old is that you know things. I began reading HN in the early 1970s and have copies dating back to 1962. The best writers in the history of the game have graced its pages and writing for HN is no small feat.

Great article and a well deserved opportunity.

I like it and read them all. I agree that you shouldn't filter out what you like and dislike. I like the variety...my two cents.
