Would they put more than 14 forwards on the roster???

This would worry me alot more if we only had 10 forwards on the roster, hopefully they just don't go over 14

Funny...I had just read this blog this morning about Dawes being in Sather's dog-house.

Dawes in Sather's "Dawg" House?

I've heard from sources around the Rangers that GM Glen Sather isn't a fan of Nigel Dawes.

What's not to like?

For anyone that saw the kid play last year in his limited role, all he did was create even when his line-mates weren't doing anything.

You should be happy he re-signed to a one year deal well under his worth at $587,500.

All he has done is produced at every level, and he will definitely improve on his 29 points in 61 games next season with proper ice time.

You may just be kicking yourself when other teams take note Sather, for not throwing this "Dawg" a bone.

If Rangers could fit Havlat under the cap, I would do that deal in a heartbeat. I think Prucha is only as good as his linemates are. If he scores a goal, its because someone set him up for it...I don't think Prucha is capable of creating offense by himself. Maybe he did in the past but I've honestly forgotten about him as a player. People say he needs the minutes to be successful but doesn't every player need the minutes? At least players like Orr, Betts, Sjostrom, etc. are useful with the minutes they're given. Prucha has become a waste, imo. He needs a change in scenery because I don't think NY is doing him well anymore...

As for Dawes, I like him. I like Dawes a lot. I'm usually skeptic about smaller players but Dawes has really proved me wrong. He CAN create offense by himself, he doesn't fall down like a ton of bricks every time he gets hit, he knows where to go to get that shot, etc. Dawes is a useful player to keep but I think Havlat is 10x better. I would LOVE if the Rangers acquired a player like Havlat. (Zherdev?) I might be biased because I like flashy players (Gaborik, Ovechkin) but Havlat is vvery talented. He is injury prone but I'd bet that if Havlat and Prucha/Dawes were given the same amount of minutes/linemates, Havlat would produce much more.

I would be very happy if the Rangers got somebody like Havlat. JMO.

Dawes is signed to a pretty friendly contract cap wise. Moving him doesnt create much space.

Havlat , injury prone as he is, is one of the most creative mother****ers in the NHL. But he's also the 6 MILLION dollar man. Unfortunately without the bionics which would likely help with the injuries.

Rangers have 2 mill in cap space according to NHL numbers

Dawes for a 3rd and Montoya!!

......
......
......

Yea, since the Rangers dont even own their own site, this means nothing. Its probably Bettman drunk at his computer pulling "funnies" and then watching the reactions.

Except why would we need him, since according to the Rangers "In the System" roster, David LeNeveu is still part of the team!

Ottawa fan here, Vermette was missing off the official sites roster page, fuelling trade speculation. A couple days later he was re-added to the roster page and about three weeks after that he was signed to a two deal.

Or maybe what I just said has nothing to do with the Dawes situation and he has already been packaged in Eklund's wet dream of a blockbuster.
