Fritsche isn't listed anywhere either... but I don't think it's a sign of a trade... i think it is more of a sign of the NHL screwing up yet again... and they wonder why the Rangers wanted to keep their own website.

Don't read into this guys, it means nothing.

But Havlat? Jeez I can see the first shift already.

Sam: "Welcome to Prague where the Rangers are taking on the Lightning. Here's the face-off and Gomez wins it back to Staal. Staal feeds it up the boards to Havlat. Havlat's checked by Malone... oh boy, Havlat's hurt. Martin Havlat's skating to the bench and he's definitely in pain. Looks like his shoulder."

I wouldn't puke at that...I would applaud it! Granted Havlat has the injuries and all, Pru is totally expendable. I would miss Dawes, but in Havlat you have a potential PPG player, that plays both LW and RW. If he could stay healthy, he could be dangerous here, and certainly adds a bonafied top 6 to the equation. Something that I don't think Pru is, and Dawes could potentially be...but the verdict isn't out yet.

No way the Hawks move Havlat for Dawes & Prucha. They could get a much better package elsewhere.

Dawes in Sather's "Dawg" House?

I've heard from sources around the Rangers that GM Glen Sather isn't a fan of Nigel Dawes.

What's not to like?

For anyone that saw the kid play last year in his limited role, all he did was create even when his line-mates weren't doing anything.

You should be happy he re-signed to a one year deal well under his worth at $587,500.

All he has done is produced at every level, and he will definitely improve on his 29 points in 61 games next season with proper ice time.

You may just be kicking yourself when other teams take note Sather, for not throwing this "Dawg" a bone.

Who the hell is this guy and why should we believe anything he says? Meh, really...don't think so. Plus saying "all he did was create, even when his linemates didn't" is wrong. Not that Dawes didn't do pretty well, but he had his share of invisible nights

Not so much a fan of everyone with a blog thinking they have inside scoops or something.

Havlat is definitely an incredible player. He could very well be a PPG player, but are you willing to take that chance if he's only scoring a PPG for 35 games? I'm not. Then, when he does go down to injury, who do we replace him with? Korpikoski? Seems like a plan for disaster.

Even if his injury history wasn't an issue, there's no way we fit him under the cap without shifting a ton of salary. Right there you hit a wall because Chicago is already over the cap and won't take on more salary. There would have to be a 3rd team involved.

For a team that's over the cap, trading an injury prone player with a 6 million dollar hit is going to be tough. I don't think Prucha + Dawes is fair value, but I doubt Chicago is going to get much for him. If they move him at all.

Yea, since the Rangers dont even own their own site, this means nothing. Its probably Bettman drunk at his computer pulling "funnies" and then watching the reactions.
i don't think it's that they don't OWN the site, it's just that they had to use the NHL's format..

Fritsche has never appeared on the roster while Dawes was on there up until yesterday mid afternoon at least.

The next month or so is going to go by very slowly...

How can we even speculate that this means Dawes has been traded (wouldn't one of beat writers know about a trade that already happened?)

Yeah.. the Rangers aren't going to trade Dawes, especially considering his cap his is next to nothing.

Let's wait for Eklund's confirmation...

"Breaking news! My sources told me Rangers have just removed Nigel Dawes from their roster page. A trade is very conceivable. Check back soon!"

Pretty sure the NHL controls design and content. I wouldn't be surprised if the Rangers had no hands on control of the site at all

Not true. Each team has their own "webmaster" who controls the content on the site, so to speak.

The Rangers were required to submit to the generic NHL format/design, but they still control the information that's posted there.

Hey these mistakes happen with the website, it has happened before. I don't remember the exact summer, but once we almost signed Brett Hull as a UFA but things fell apart last min. I remember around 3 am that nite the Rangers web site had his profile up on thier site already and was listed on the roster. It was only up for about 5 or so hours before they took it down. But Brett Hull was very very very close to being a Ranger.
