At HF:
  • A billion threads threating it as an article faith that Stastny will sign an offer sheet
  • Flames fans trying to meely mouth the Bertuzzi incident, a "Bertuzzi is back!" thread for his few game hot strek in November and quietly backing away from that after another lackluster season
  • A zillion passive agressive "how's Raycroft playing threads from Leafs' Nation

I was going to put Detroit fans egomania will be totally insufferable, but that's already happened.

The Cubbard will also be bare.

2) Sakic comes back in October, Forsberg around December.
3) Avs win the Northwest division title.

1) Budaj puts up a dominating season, proving that he can in fact be a starting goaltender. To Avs fans, it's the first time we don't wince at every shot fearing it will go in since Roy.

2) Wolski out points Stastny and shows his mean streak.

3) Avalanche call up Chris Stewart when one of their forwards goes down. He along with Hensick and Jones form a new kid line, reminding us of the Tanguay - Drury - Hejduk line.

I'll show you bold:

1. Raycroft comes out looking to have recaptured what it was that he lost, and then some. Posts the best save percentage in the division and wins 40+.

2. The defense stays so healthy that Cumiskey spends the entire season in the AHL.

3. Sakic returns, but retires 3 weeks into the season.

Oooh, I'm going to go with bold predictions with a negative effect on the Avs next year.

1) Avs start out strong but get hit with injuries to Wolski, Svatos, Stastny, Hannan, Clark, Liles, and Leopold.

2) Both goaltenders go down in one game due to freak accidents involving a large block of ice.

3) The Avs finish dead last in the division.

and now the good part:

4) The Avs go into rebuild mode and trade away their imminent UFA's, the trade destination teams proceed to tank hard (due to freak incidences). The Avs end up with the top-3 draft selections, picking Tavares, Hedman and Cowen (or Schenn).

1. Q replaces Granato after 25 games, after Granato is asked once again to step aside and learn something from the master.
2. Sakic retires, then unretires after Wolski is named the starting center and ends up traded to NY for a conditional pick.
3. Stasny freaks out and bites off Bertuzzi's ear during fistacuffs, after declaring he'll eat Bert's babies and gets his face tattoed.

And on to the somewhat more real ones :p
1. Av's win the NW.
2. Wolski breaks out and leads the Av's in points.
3. Raycroft and The Budaj both perform exceptionally well forcing a controversial playoff decision in goal.
