fletch, I don't think its sour grapes. I think avery is selling himself to the fans of dallas...

imo it wasn't a cheapshot at the rangers...it seems to me its avery being avery... the majority of fans apologized for him for a year and a half shouldve expected worse..

I dunno, SoS....

the question seemed to be why he chose Dallas - being better than the Rangers probably wasn't a choice since the Rangers didn't appear to be in the running and all along he seemed to have wanted to sign with the Rangers. Most professionals would've had tons of different answers; his perhaps didn't even answer the question (if the Rangers really weren't a viable option).

Exactly. He is a guy you (well most of us) want on your team but a guy you hate to play against.

Sean is being Sean. I wouldn't expect otherwise.

I also expect him to play his usual game when he comes to visit at MSG. Lundy, keep your head up pal!

How about Sean Avery can go kiss my New York ass. Rumor had it he was offered 4 years, $12 million by the Rangers to stay, but he STILL wanted that extra $4 million. Bye bye and don't let the bulls down there in Texas rodeos spear you in your ass either.

You bet I want this to happen. It's enough we lost to them last season. Nothing more than a season sweep in 2008-2009 is satisfactory. I hope he gets what he deserves, a loud chorus of boos after what was cheap shot at the Rangers. Pfft, yeah a lucky run to the Western Conference Finals and they're clearly better. Whatever.

Just be glad we play them once a season instead of 6. He's just doing the exact same things for Dallas that he did here that made us love him.

We finally get to see what it's like to be on the other side of the fence.

And it sucks .

what did u expect him to say? "I am coming to a team that wasn't as good as my last one but I hope to make it work" ? Every player says stuff like this when they go to a new team. Everyone needs to chill.

Sean Avery doesn't strike me as the kind of guy who actually has any team loyalty or who would make meaningful relationships with his teammates. He's just doing his job, which means standing up for his teammates and representing his team, and as soon as his employer changes he's got a whole new set of loyalties.

Nothing wrong with a hard-working guy who's just doing his job.

I'm suprised people are suprised with this. This is what the guy does and what he did here. I liked Avery as a Ranger, but could care less he's gone. Time to move on.

I'm curious to see how he and Ott play together. Man, I'm annoyed just thining about that haha

i wish he was a ranger but sather messed up. i think voros though will be a fan fav not as much as avery but still a fan fav. he is only 26 and has size and some skill, goes to the net, fights when he has too and can hit. i see him helping the team, unless they call a penalty for him like they did for hollweg

Haha, who didn't see this coming?

Who cares what he says about NY. I'm sure we'll see how he handles himself against Voros and Orr in October.

Puzzles me why he would say something like this regardless, does he want NYR fans to hate him???
Devils fan here. No one Boo me please. Thats just the way Avery is, he doesn't care what anybody thinks and i guess when hes done with one team, he starts ripping them just like he did with L.A.

We need someone who can lay him out, not bark a bunch of garbage at him and then run away.. which is basically what Jamtin does.

I bet Staal flattens him.
