Kings Agree to a 4 Year, $14.4MM Contract with Stoll

I noticed he hasn't been re-signed yet, anyone know what the hold up is? I know it's pretty unlikely he gets moved seeing as you guys just acquired him, but I've always liked his style of play and would love to see him on the Canucks. Just wondering if maybe the two sides are far apart on contract demands and if he could be moved at all? You guys appear to have a lot of depth at center with Kopitar, Boyle, Handzus, Armstrong as well as O'Sullivan, Lewis and Richardson all capable of playing center as well, so where does Stoll fit in if/when signed? Thanks for any insight! And congrats on getting Doughty signed today, I can't wait to watch him next season.

Stoll signed!

Nope. Last we heard he was the closest to being signed, plus him and Rachel Hunter just bought a house in the area.

Oooh! Do you have the address & what time he leaves for the rink?

And as long as I'm dreaming, I want a pony.....

I hope so, they were married. Rod doesn't strike me as the type to stay married if he aint getting any.

Can't say I'm in the know of his personal preferences.

Because he, like Tom Jones, gets panties thrown at him while he's on stage.

Well, I'm
Only A Hobo...

But back to Stoll,

I hope we try him at RW--He's a
real battler along the boards,
is pretty strong & has good hands. A line of :
Frolov(LW)/Boyle(C)/Stoll(RW) would have
formidable strength and skill.

Another combo,
Frolov(LW)/O'Sullivan(C)/Stoll(C)
looks to have potential as well.

Ideally, Stoll would be the 3rd-line C, BUT--We won't
have the depth in '08-09 to AVOID having Stoll on
the top 6 quite a bit of the time.

Ofcourse, if both Boyle and Purcell
make a splash this year, then that fills out our top 2 lines.

I'm just, for some reason, not expecting Purcell to be quite ready this season--I think
he'll be up & down and maybe just play
part of the season up in LA.

In that case, Stoll will be handy to have
as a top-6 insert who can hold his own.
(Sure beats using Armstrong there).

By the '09-10 season, Purcell will likely be in the Kings lineup,
plus Simmonds and/or Moller may be ready.
At that time, Stoll will be able
to be moved to mostly 3rd-line duty,
where he can actually dominate at times.

I know Stoll and the Kings agreed to a deal (a couple weeks ago actually) but I haven't seen a news source post it yet so was wondering if there has maybe been a change since I've spoken with my source. I don't like to reveal my sources so did not want to post this and break HF rules. And I'm not going to be offended if people don't believe me or if mods want to delete the post. I'm not in it for the spotlight so if people choose to believe me that's fine, but the agreement was a 4 year, 14 million dollar deal (3.5 million/season on average). I think I've proven in the past that I do have sources around the league; some of the posters who have been around since the beginning may know this.

Again, I'm not doing this to "break a story", just trying to inform people. Mods, I apologize if this is overboard and will understand if you delete my post...

Thanks for the info, Hyped.

Right around where I was expecting for Stoll (actually a bit lower).

Great work and thanks for the update. Does you sources have any news on O'Sullivan or any possible trades for a defenseman?

I like Jarret Stoll and I think he's going to help out tremendously but it would concern me to give a guy that much money over that many years when he's had a decent string of injuries over the last few years.

If he's truly 100% healthy then that's ok but I don't know if he is.

That would be a deal that I hope we would be giving O'Sullivan, but the market may indicate that he will get closer to $4 million.
