What differentiates an associate coach from an assistant coach?

Same here. I tried digging for a little more info, but all I got is the standard info BS and an NFL player with the same name.

They brought him in to be the video guy. He got really big on youtube under his alias Chris Crocker.

Strength and conditioning experience, video experience, aspects the Canucks desperately need as Barry Smith was horrendous in the video department.

I would have preferred someone who is a PP expert but this was also needed.

Anyone have an idea what level of involvement Pehlan will have? Will the Canucks just be one of 20 other clients he has?

I assume it is but there really hasn't been anything reported. He's been touted as a motivational coach but in his introduction press conference I don't think they mentioned what, exactly, he'll be doing.

Williams is touted as being a video expert, but is there some evidence as to what makes him so great?

It's not an attack on Williams, I'm genuinely curious to see if anybody is in the know about what he brings to the table... it's one thing to call him the "video specialist" but I'd like to see what makes him different from the hundreds/thousands of people who watch and analyze hockey video.

Reporter: So Ryan, what exactly will your duties entail as the Canucks assistant coach?

Ryan: These are not the questions you are looking for. *Gives black and white photo thumbs up*

Reporter: I feel good about myself.

Ryan: Excellent.

Ryan Walter as a PP expert?

I'm kinda wary of handing the PP expert job to a guy who was ppg for like one season of his entire career, playing with Gartner and Maruk (for both of his offensively explosive seasons).

Using that reasoning, Montreal wouldn't have had the league's best PP with Doug Jarvis in charge.
