he should take 81. Although if I were Tanguay i would force Lapierre to give me forty. Although if a were Tanguay I wouldnt be a jerk, I would be AWESOME

Using a system that makes total sense 13 is in fact 25 and 81 is 94.
I emailed the NHLPA and I also know the team is looking in to it.

If Tanguay is all that he is supposed to be and he plays on a line with Higgins and Koivu, would the A. Kostitsyn-Plekanec-Kovalev line score many more goals or would it be close?

By the way, I discount those rumors that a number of other teams besides Montréal, Toronto, and Vancouver are actively in the hunt for Sundin.

Higgins - Koivu - Tanguay would stuggle...

Higgins have no business playing on that line with these two players. Those three players would be much too small... when Higgins decides to try to be Kovalev, all three players will play besides the board. We need a big body with Tanguay and Koivu, who would always go to the net.

I want Tanguay - Koivu - Latendresse.

And I want Higgins - Chipchura - S. Kostitsyn as a third line.

The Higgins-Koivu-Ryder line was fairly successful at one time without having that "big body". You're taking it for granted that Latendresse would add something. He hasn't proved that he belongs with Koivu and Tanguay. Maybe he will this season and maybe he's at least a year away.

Either way Montreal gets their number 13 this year.

My question is this, why hasn't Lapierre offered the number to Tanguay? It is a number that Tanguay chose to wear in Calgary, with Lappy it was a number assigned to him...I'm sure Tanguay would pay him nicely for it.

No objection to playing RW.
It's like me saying "Yea sure, I'll play wing rather then center."
Looks to me like he's just saying the "right" thing. Honestly, you have to keep the media happy per say and ovoid hot topic in Montréal.
On the other hand, he is challenging himself to play his bests hockey.
Go Tanguay Go!

Go Tanguay Go!
Just watch the video version of this article on RDS. It sounds sincere enough.

Maybe your friend went and get one done but I have not seen any Tanguay # 40 in the city yet.I saw some Laraque shirts already but no Tanguay.

I hope he wears 13 since that's what he wants!

I think he was talking about the actual set of jerseys Tanguay will wear.

Correction : Higgins - Koivu - Ryder once produced on THE POWERPLAY. 5 on 5, even strenght, they always struggled.

Tanguay would have difficulties to adapt to RW, and like it or not, he'd be the real threat on that line. That means he must play where he feels better.

Latendresse was a RW in his junior days, and I would put him there way before Tanguay.

And do you really feel like seeing Higgins shoot besides the net on Tanguay's perfect passes? Sorry. I don't.

Poor Higgins,I think he will double his open net misses this year but will stil get more points then last year if he does play on that line with Tanguay and Koivu

I still believe there is a good chance we sign Sundin, Tanguay would have been given 13 already if there wasn't.
