'95 Draft Question

To all you die hard Flyers fans out there, I have 2 questions for you...

In 1995 the Flyers walked up to the podium at the entry draft, and with the 48th pick overall they selected from the Owen Sound Platers defenseman Shane Kenny...

Now Kenny never made much of a hit with the Flyers and I am guessing wasn't signed... Since then he has bounced around like crazy, playing a bit in the AHL, a bit in the IHL, a bit overseason, some in the ECHL, etc... and now according to my research he has ended up in Laval of the QSMHL...

Questions:

1) When he didn't sign with them, do you know if it was because they decided not to try to sign him or was it because they tried and couldn't get it done?
2) If it was because they decided to let him go, what did they not like about his game?

I'm curious as I used to play against Shane back in Bantam AAA (the b@stard beat me on a breakaway in double OT of the provincial championships ) and I'm curious what happened to his career... I remember he had a cannon of a shot and was a very strong physical player...

when he was drafted, I believe he was like 6'2 230lbs, huge. supposedly he ballooned up to like 260+lbs and they(Flyers) decided to drop him as a prospect dew to conditioning reasons.

edit:
-dew
+do

Actually, you want due.

Anyway, your right FlyersGuy. Kenny was actually a pretty good prospect, with a real chance of making the team until he blew it.

That's what I thought... I thought he had so much upside... I wasn't aware that he had let himself go and got badly out of shape though... That would explain it...

Thanks for the info guys...
