Stastny vs. D. Sedin

When I look at these players, they have similar stats : 30 goals, 45-50 assists. Both can play defense.

Who's the best?

Stastny for me. He already has 1 season with a PPG of at least 1.
Plus, he only played 2 seasons and is only 22 years old

Stastny because he will more likely become a 100pt player while Sedin is at his potential IMO

Stastny. The kid has put up similar numbers to Sedin the past couple years but is 5 years younger. He still has room to improve and will be a better player than Sedin once he is in his prime.

I wouldn't trade Stastny for both Sedins.

Well, both are about the same height and weight:

Daniel is 6-1 and 200 pounds
Stasty is 6-0 and 205 pounds

both are pretty good defensively though, with a +/- of 22 for Stastny and +/- 6 I'd have to say Stastny is slightly more effective [not saying Daniel is bad - I would love to have him and Henrik on my team] plus in 66 games Stastny had 71 points to average: 1.08 points per game while Daniel had 74 points in 82 games to average: 0.90 points per game. But Stastny's ATOI was 21 or so while Daniel's ATOI was 19 or so.

I'd say its close - but the gap in years and point production of Stastny is amazing so I'd have to go with him.

Stastny for sure. Daniel Sedin would have half the number he puts up now if it wasn't for his brother.

Right now it's Daniel sedin. He's had a 36 goal and 84 point season while Stastny's best season is 28 goals and 78 points.

But Stastny has more potential.

Problem is, it's difficult to compare when 1 is a center and the other a left winger.

Funny thing is, people say the same about Henrik. Oh Henrik wouldn't get 70+ assists every year if it wasn't for Daniel.

Problem with that theory is that when they are split up, they both still put up a point a game. And that's regardless of who they play with.

As for Stastny, go and see who his linemates are. I am sure you'd agree that Ryan Smyth and Milan Hejduk are no slouches.
