Possible for Jagr to return come playoff time?

Any Idea if this would be possible? Factors to consider: Omsk schedule/contract, NYR cap space, whether the nhl would allow it etc.

maybe I'm dreaming, but wouldn't it be sweet if we were in playoff position and we had Jags come back for the final stretch?? Maybe it would throw off the season built chemistry of the new additions, but wouldn't we love to see that possessed Jagr heading into the playoffs??

I believe that would be a breach to his contract with omsk, so i don't believe it is possible, and for him to be able to play in the nhl playoffs he has to be signed before the trade deadline.

so I don't think it is possible

feel free to correct me if i'm wrong.

unless Omsk and the NHL let it happen for only the playoffs then it could happen. but i doubt it since the agreement with the NHL and KHL, and i think it would ruin chemistry.

Jagr's gone now, and he's not coming back.

I for one suggest we not keep looking over our shoulders at what might have been, and instead look forward to what could be.

If you're going to take a step forward, don't do it in a half-assed way by taking a hesitant, half-step. Take the full step, or don't take it at all.

Even if it were possible, which it isn't, if this team was meshing well enough to make the playoffs why would you want to throw Jagr into the mix and create chemistry issues prior to the playoffs.

What stage of grief is this? Denial or bargaining?

...waiting for acceptance.

To prevent stashing talent overseas, any player brought over after a definited date (I believe it is Dec 15th) would have to clear league-wide waivers.

So if Jagr sleeps with the wife of every player and coach in Omsk and has his contract bought-out, he would have to get cracking soon.

To answer your question, 100% not possible.

Let's not forget the 2 year no NHL out contract that Jags signed, too.

Didn't the league just address things like this after the selanne and niedermayer debacles last season?? I could be wrong but I thought something was done to keep guys from waiting til the end of the season to come back.

Wow, that's a pretty harsh assessment! I loved Jagr, but let's move on...
