Find Philadelphia a #3 Defenseman

The Flyers need a #3 defenseman if they want to go to the next level and beat Pittsburgh, and I want to know what kind of offers would be put on the table for a good #3 defenseman. Guys like Carter or Giroux would only be on the table for a guy who would be the #3 defenseman on Philly but is probably a #1 or #2 on their team. Let the offers begin.

Edit: Needs to be a guy who is defensively responsible and is probably on the more conservative side, considering he would be playing with Randy Jones who has mental lapses fairly frequently and is on the offensive side. Also another edit, needs to be a guy who can fit under the cap, or if he has a fairly large salary Flyers' salary needs to be going the other way.

no thank you.

The only players that are off the table here are Richards, Coburn, and Timonen imo. And if your making a proposal for a team and including one of our guys with NTC/NMC think about whether or not the player would even considering going there.

I think at this point it would have to be Edler+ a lot. If the Flyers were willing to deal Carter there is no doubt in my mind that a trade for Bouwmeester would be coming in short order.

, I'd be thrilled. I've pretty much lost hope of that after Nashville resigning him at a very good price though.

I woulda Done Ponikarovski and Kubina (7 Million) for Hartnell and Knuble....

Philly woulda got their #3 defenseman and a 20g/40 pt winger.
Toronto woulda got a 26 year old Power forward with Snarl and an asset that could have been traded at the deadline

That's pretty decent. Philly would probably like to send another dman back your way for a pick even if it was Kukkonen or something because we'll have a big surplus. His number of games played the last few years makes me pretty nervous though.

Any interest in one of Mike Van Ryn, Carlo Coliacovo or Ian White. Toronto has too many d-man and we are looking to move one.

Van Ryn very cheaply might interest me. Upshall and Kukkonen or something like that. I'm not sold that he's definitely a #3 right now after playing so little last year but for a good price he'd be worth a shot.

Nah. We're really not hurt that bad if Gagne gets hurt again, we made it to the ECF's last year without him so we'll be ok. Since that's the case and we won't get anywhere near fair value for him I don't think it makes much sense to move him.

as far as McCabe for Carter... please remember to include one of these () because some people would probably think that's legit.

That I agree with that's why for Philly I think it's a good trade. Gagne might be done might be a star, works really for both teams.

uhhhh

Bieksa + 2nd?

The Canucks can't really afford to move too much, but Bieksa brings offense and grit. He's definitely a #3 defenseman.
