Van-LA

The Canucks are in need of a second line center and the kings are thin on defense so I propose this deal.

To LA: Kevin Bieksa

To VAN: Jarret Stoll

Would give the Canucks a solid young second line center and the Kings get a tough young defensmen with offensive upside.

why would the Kings want another Dman when they have about 6 or 7 young dmen they drafted over the last 3 years?

for me i would do that.
Stoll and Greene was the return for dumping Visnovsky.
And Stoll doesn/t sign a contract now so, that deal would be good.
Maybe a bad one if he doesn't sign with the Canucks.

But from a Kings view that looks fair.
If the Nucks doesn't want him because of his UFA status, what about
Michal Handzus + 3rd ????

What the hell would the Canucks want Handzus for? He has his place, but a 4 mill dollar 3rd liner? Come on. And then give up a young good defensemen for him? lol.

Heh, seeing that this was created by a Canucks fan (and that this is HFBoards' trades forum) I was expecting to see Bieksa, Schneider and a 2nd for Kopitar or something like that..

Turns out canucks19 is part of the small minority that thinks Bieksa's got an albatross contract, or for that matter than Jarret Stoll could make the second line on a team other than the Canucks..

In terms of the Canucks needs Stoll would fit the bill as the middling center with some offensive upside that we need - however there's no way I'd give up Bieksa for him.

Value wise I might take Stoll, Moller and a mid range pick or something for Bieksa, but that doesn't really reflect our needs either.

I love seeing the compassion for a player that had an off season the year after he suffered a concussion.

Stoll had an awful season last year, but he is seemingly healthy now and has demonstrated the ability to be a #2 center in the past. I'm just wondering. Do you ever actually root for the Kings?

I know every fiber of your being is all about hoping that every move that Lombardi makes is wrong, but really what's the point?

I think a Stoll for Bieksa deal is actually pretty fair. Both players have shown the ability in the past to be solid NHL'ers but had disappointing seasons due to injury. Roughly the same age and will likely have similar cap hits, although Stoll's will probably be slightly less.

LOL. Good one. It wasn't as much the concussion as it was Pronger's departure that brought him back down to earth.

And I'm wondering if you watch hockey other than the Kings.

Besides, isn't this same compassion which we showed Cammalleri? Yeah.

Well, he was on a 60+ point pace in 06/07 on a Pronger-less Oilers' club.

Care to elaborate on Cammalleri? I don't recall people that advocated trading him call him garbage. Now there were plenty of us that said that his absence during his injury showed that the Kings' offense wouldn't miss a beat by replacing him with O'Sullivan, and that Cammalleri isn't very good in his own zone.

If wanting Cammalleri traded because it was obvious that he was going to become a UFA at the end of next season because he and his agent overvalue his play, then I'm guilty as charged. But I don't think it has anything to do with not having compassion for the guy. I never called the kid garbage.

I think the idea is to trade for players and give them a try before flipping them for other players.

Being a Kings fan I would do the Stoll for Bieska trade. Solid 2nd pairing dman, gives Boyle a shot at 2nd line center.

With Kopitar, Brown, Frolov and O'Sullivan up front and young it also gives guys other then Boyle like Purcell a chance. If we need some room t hit the cap floor Glen Murray on a 1 year might bring in more speed and leadership as well.

People who have never played hockey and don't know a thing about the sport would call Stoll garbage.

This is par for the course for that particular poster, believe me. Ask him about his "sources" someday. It's a riot.
