The only real leverage FLA has is that Bouw hasn't been reported saying he wants out of Florida.

And that isn't much.

And now trying to pry Bouwmeester out of Florida.

It's not fair, Vancouver is stuck with all the defensive guys
Not fair? My Kings suck out loud every year. We EARNED these guys!!! Who says LA is trying to pry Bouwmeester out of FLA anyway?

I could see a 3rd/4th round pick, and possibly a mid level prospect, don't know witch one.

True, but Frolov is only two years from being a UFA, so a swap isn't all that unreasonable. Having a franchise (or close to it) defenseman for one year + having first (and second) crack at signing him long-term (i.e. the real prize) probably equals having a #1 non-franchise LWer for two years + having first (and second) crack at signing him long-term.

Oh, and I'm not willing to consider that he signs a long-term deal before being traded. Honestly, how often does that happen?
normally i'd agree but the quality of the player and the position and role j. bouw can play makes him more valuable then most "rental" type players, not to mention his age and his main contention that he "wants to play for a winner" (or at least i believe he's said that), the ability to resign him isnt necessarily as "bad" as it seems which could very well lead a team to overpay for him (maybe not as much as the sharks paid to get boyle but i'd have to venture more than what the penguins paid to get hossa based on the importance of d-men and specifically, #1 type d-men like bouw)

Everyone laughs at this deal, but in reality there's not way the Kings would do it. Put yourself in LA's shoes. Getting Jbou for one year accomplishes NOTHING.

Considering what Luongo got. Will Jbou's return be much better?

Don't be suprised if Jbou get traded for something of less value than O'Sullivan.

Bu, bu, bu...but why? We don't want to play defense! We just want to make sure we score more goals than you do; we want our defense to be able to outscore your offense on top of our already nicely-developing offense.

I would say they have the most offensive defense in the league. Gauthier's defense is especially offensive...

To be honest, I dont think this deal happens straight up, let alone at all. So Im going to hand it over to the rest of the board to see what you guys can come up with in regards to picks/prospects etc.

The kings get another young Dman to go alone with Jack Johnson, and the Panthers get some deeply needed scoring in a great up and coming young forward

This is my first thread, dont rip me up too bad lol

Also, if this was already posted somewhere else, sorry for posting this idea again
No! Where do you people come up with this junk ?

I agree with Osprey on this one. But if I were Lombardi I would not make the deal unless I was 90% sure that Bouwmeester would sign an extension.

Would it make sense from an LA point of view?
O'Sullivan long term (Get it done Dean) beats 1 year of Bouwmeester to me...
To be fair with you guys, I want O'Sullivan to stay anyway....

So, who's with me?

If it was between O'Sullivan long term and Bouwmeester 1 year I would go with O'Sullivan. But if it was between O'Sullivan long term and Bouwmeester long term I would definitely go with Bouwmeester. No doubt in my mind. Which is why I said that Dean should only make a deal like this if he is reasonably sure he can work out an extension.

Gotta agree with you here. I'd hate to lose Sully, but I think a long term signing of Bouwmeester would be the final piece for our future defense.

I dont know i think hell be the most sought after guy at the deadline more likely to get Hossa value.
