Same here, I've been stuck in the 10-12 (Howson's Heroes) spot basically all season. The big problem I see is the depth of the league. There just aren't any decent players left. For instance, I have Willie Mitchell on IR at the moment. I'd love to just drop him for someone else but I'm not gonna get a good enough return to make it worth my while. So on the IR he sits.

My other team is doing great, although I was just knocked out of first place this past week...frickin Ovechkin.

Interesting how five of the top six teams drafted in the top five positions (Squirrelly Nut Job (5), Byrral (2), Goaliemon (1), Willien (4), Starflags (3)). And KO drafted 7th.

Does that mean anything?
well my 7th overall pick (jagr) hasnt been the reason for my success, it has been the goaltenders i drafted pazzy(151) biron(66) tim thomas (390) (early in the season they were ranked 1,2, and 4!) i traded thomas for demitra and sabourin. pazzy-biron-sabourin= best goalie tandem in the league imho

my defense is really good also: pronger(30) boucher(ir)(79) corvo(187) shane O'brien (puts up good p.i.m.)(223)

i have 2 teams also and both have been sucessful my other team was #1 from weeks 2-11 but then 4 teams droped out of the league so we drafted their players in ascending standings order so needless to say i did not beneifit so i droped to about 12th in the league but i have worked my way back up to 7th so im not totally giving up on that team yet.

My season is over. I was hoping against hope to at least make the consolation round but that didn't happen. I do have some decent players that I hate to see sitting idle though. I would have cut as many as I could already to make things interesting for the rest of you but I noticed the league leaders have the first dibs on the waiver wire.

So I'll leave it up to you. I'll cut to the bone if the majority of those left in the race tell me they want me to. Let me know yeah or neigh and I will cut friday so the claims will kick in next week.

Please do not release your players. There are a couple of people who stopped managing their teams months ago and have premier players not in their starting lineup. We didn't do anything with their players. Plus there is no fair way to distribute players equally and no reason to either. Why should anyone get an additional advantage at this point in the season. It doesn't make sense.

go figure i finish 11th in this league, but finish 75th overall out of every public team on Yahoo in another public league as CBJ#9 going 155-55-20. At least Veebs had a good year somewhere.

As I finished the season being jealous watching the top six play for the real championship, I settled for the HF Boards NIT Champion. Just though for fun, managers could be hockey writers and critique their teams.

Record 117-111-48 282 points 10th in the league, Consolation Bracket Winner haha

Team MVP- Roberto Luongo, despite his tanking the end of the season.

Best Draft pick Rounds 1-10 Brian Rolston, always consistent, never flashy

Worst Pick Rounds 1-10 Tie between 9th round Ladislav Nagy, 10th round Mark Recchi

Best Draft day steal- Mark Streit in the last round of the draft, pick #425, 49 assist 34 PP points

Best Waiver Wire Pickup- 3-way tie Daniel Carcillo PIM champ, Goalies Carey Price and Dan Ellis

What if? What if Joe Sakic, my 2nd pick, and Alexander Semin, my 3rd pick didn't spend most off the season on the IR. Once Sakic came back from injury my team as gone 4-1-1.

*4. Squirrelly Nut Job 174-70-32 (Iron Balls McGinty)
*5. Goaliemons Gangsters 136-96-44 (Goaliemon89)

10. The Nashionals 108-129-39 (kidAcbj)
11. Howson's Heroes 127-112-37 (cydawg)
12. Toledo Kangaroos 124-122-30 (PCH)
13. CCC Blue Blazers 108-131-37 (Casework)
14. Beaver Boys 107-133-36 (The Dancin' Beaver)
15. The Iceman Cometh 98-148-30 (CBJFreak)

17. GMDM Effect 78-164-34 (JSealock)
18. Crosstown Rivals 65-170-41 (trlewis4/Iron Mike)

The last 2 people were inactive. I guess in a league this big, it's not shocking a few people would quit for whatever reason. Sometimes real life gets in the way. Still a bummer, though.

Who is my fellow champion from HF CBJ Board League #1?

2nd overall in the regular season and 3rd place in the playoffs. Not bad for a fantasy hockey rookie

My best picks were in the middle rounds:

Anze Kopitar, 6th round #107 (32g, 77p)
Brenden Morrow, 8th round # 143 (32g, 74p)
Ales Hemsky, 9th round # 146 (20g, 71p)

and three guys who were having solid seasons but got hurt:
Rod BrindAmour, 5th round #74 (19g, 51p) in 59 games
Tomas Holmstrom, 10th round #179 (20g, 40p) in 59 games
Dan Cleary, 15th round #254 (20g, 42p) in 63 games

Worst pick:
Ryan Whitney, 2nd round #35 (I passed on Lidstrom )

It was fun. Look forward to next year.

Yahoo fantasy says hockey will be coming online at the end of August, so I think it's about time to bring the Board of Governor's together to determine how many teams should in the league, who's playing, and best times for a draft by mid September of so.

Suggestion: only 15 teams this year max because last year's waiver wire was bare for most of the year, I would prefer even 12 or so as long as managers stay competitive.

I would prefer no more than 12 for sure. Last year was murder. Once you got behind, there was just no way to make any changes. Maybe a League #3 would be in order this year.

Another problem, related no doubt, was the number of managers that stopped playing. Worst of all was the fact that the league admin was one of those that became inactive.

I'm up for this, as always.

I think 12 is a good idea. Anyone who was in a league last year should get top priority for a spot, after that it's first come first serve.

Who wants to be in charge?

Ičll be the commish of League #1 again.

I posted recently a list of managers, I think that League 1 should keep the same amount of managers as last year, and we should stick to the plan that we came up with- bottom two of League 1 go to League 2, and top 2 of League 2 move up.

I was one of those that fell off the wagon in League 1 due to new duties at work. But I had a lot of fun while I had time. If we're doing a 2 tier league, I'll gladly drop down and give my space to someone who played the full season.

Definitely not full rosters. It was great to see some of the depth picks turn out to be stars, but this year we'll be using a much smaller roster.

I hearby offer up my services as the comish of league #2. If we are sticking to the two-tier league idea (which I like) we should make the settings for the two leagues the same. I like the standard settings on Yahoo Fantasy pretty well but am certainly not adverse to making changes if that is the group consensus.

Whoever y'all move to League #1 (what we like to call the Premier League) should make sure they are prepared to face the Champ.

I plan on 3-peating ya know
