That's what I think he will do, too. IF he comes back I hope he has the chutzpah to play like he wants to win and doesn't "Arkhipov" it. But then, if he had the chutzpah to do that he wouldn't have skipped out on his contract in the first place.

On the plus side, we would be the only team to have a player already conditioned before coming to training camp!

if rads returns it will either be a complete fiasco with us having a player who doesnt want to be here on a team that doesnt want him either, or it will be a humbling, maturity inducing experience that will change him from a talented headcase to a real honest to goodness NHL star.

(i am betting on the former, and would just as soon not have him back at all)

Considering he really only left due to money, whoever he is traded to (and yes I buy into the theory that he will be dealt very quickly) will probably sign him to an extension and be very happy with the little they will likely have to give to get him.

Screw that. Make him play here. If he tanks it he won't be worth anything to anybody, this is his contract year after all. At the end of the year qualify him then let someone sign him to an offer sheet.

the longer this goes on it does seem that there is just no way we are going to come out of this a winner. Poile, prove me wrong.

I foolishly wake up each morning, checking various sports sites and here to see any new news about the team and nope, and even if it's 'new' news it's only about Radulov.

I am glad to see the NHL stand up to the KHL over Radulov bolting for the mother-land, but I have one question:

Where was all of this indignation by the NHL when Alexander Svitov bolted from the CBJ back to his home town?

honestly, I really could give two ***** about Russia & Russian players, have felt this way for along time, because I had a feeling he wasn't exactly always "there" if you know what I mean

it was my understanding that the Jackets didn't put up much of a fight in regard to Svitov, kind of "don't let the door hit you on the way out."

Russians are a different Breed per TITANSEAN

""A lot of the Russians are very big into playing for their cities and stuff like that. They're very loyal in that way," Gardner said.

"The biggest thing for them is to win the small tournaments (in Europe) and then to play in the World Championship. I think it's more important to them than the Stanley Cup. They'll say they want the Stanley Cup, but I think deep down, they probably enjoy playing more for their country."

Also includes an interesting "Where are they now" type list of Russians that the Preds have drafted.

I think this is pretty obvious to be honest.

We haven't taken a Russian since 2004? Hmmm, if that's true I guess Poile decided a few years ago that he didn't want to bother with the mess.

I do like the trend of US born and college players we're drafting.

IIRC, 2004 was the last draft before the Russians backed out of the IIHF transfer agreement, so that's probably the reason we haven't drafted a Russian since.

Sundin still won't have made a decision by then so the market should still be in a similar state in 9 days.

Waiting until Sept 1 per Titansean

It's good to feel such strong backing from Daly in all of this.

I actually think this is a way to pave the path for Radulov to return for good to the Predators....however, it would take a big act of maturity/be a tough decision for him to make....

The KHL has agreed to accept binding arbitration from a third party on the Radulov case if the NHL agrees to accept it also.....
