That's who Bob should have been coveting, not Stundin.
I think they have one of the most complete defence corps in the Eastern Conference (JayBo, Van Ryn, Boynton, Ballard, Allen, Murphy), very very solid 1 through 6. That's in front one of the best goalies in the Conference as well. They have a great young offence with some players ready to come out and become stars like Horton, Booth, Weiss. Add vets like Stillman and Zednik (who was tearing it up before his injury), I really feel they can be a playoff team.

and yet Bouwmeester's name continually comes up in trade talks...Weiss and Horton have underachieved for how long now?
But I forgot, once they get the giveaway machine, Bryan McCabe their defence will be top-notch.
I'm pretty confident Florida is not making the playoffs, and will be down near the bottom of the league

edit: I take Horton back....he did have a good season last year.

Barring massive injures I think you will be wrong.
Muller Carbonneau and Jarvis are in love with what Gorges bring's to the table.
By the time that deal ends Gorges will be one of the most underpaid defenders in the league.

Higgins could start the season on the third line with Chipchura and it wont be a demotion, just a smart move to equilibrate the first 3 lines.. I think Higgins would fit perfectly with Chipchu.. If we get Sundin its another story, I could see Higgins playing with him and have a great season with great numbers..

Komisarek maybe. He lead the league in blocked shots last year. I wish he will again, but who knows.

I don't see being on the 3rd line necessarily as a bad season. Sergei could be on the 3rd line, does that qualify as a bad year? Reality is, Higgins has two-way ability and could be on any line, so 1st, 2nd, 3rd, same to me unless he's on the fourth. With the top six probably being andrei, kovalev, plek, koivu, tanguay, there's 1 spot left for higgins/latendresse/sergei. I don't know about you, but considering sergei is a playmaker and if we keep the same first line as last year, we're left with tanguay/koivu and the remaining player, i doubt it will be another playmaker in sergei either, thus pretty much solidifying latendresse's or higgins' role as a goal scorer for that line. If higgins is on the 3rd, it's to provide a 'veteran' role on the 3rd with the remaining players as a an all young line might not be a good idea.

Anyway, get over it, every post i see of you is bashing higgins. He apologizes for scoring 24 goals average a year since his rookie season. Kovalev's average in his 15 seasons: 24.53 goals a season. Not to say higgins is kovalev but why is a guy who scores the same amount of goals as a star(not points though) seen as a 3rd line player?

I know he statistically had his best year, but if you've watched a lot of games you know just as well as me that he could have scored 50 goals easily if he hadn't missed so many great chances... he had a lot of off nights... I think he didn't have the season he could have.

The odds will probably catch up with him and someone will break his ankle since he's always flipping his foot sideways to block shots.

2008-2009??

We have a great group of guys in the lineup.
Not all of them can have a career year.

Which player will have the most difficulty this year?
Which player will have to sweat off the most pressure?

IMO, the player who will have a sub par year will be Plekanec, i dont know why....its just a feeling...
Sadly, i think it will be either Tanguay or Higgins if used in 3th line.

I expect around 70pt for Kovy.. and thats not a dissapointement.

So yeah, the Habs are in trouble.

Couldn't agree more!

Ballard & Boynton for Jokinen? We have the depth to easily blow that out of the water, and come out a much better team. I'd much rather have Jokinen then Sundin.

Don't think Martin would have sent him to another eastern conference team.

Dandenault's season already looks like it's not going to be a good one for him.
