Even if there is no link though, that looks legit and is great news because as I remember last year MSG didn't show our games on the road so I guess everyone's hockey withdrawl can be somewhat cured a little bit earlier this year.
I work for a cable company, and I just got the September preliminary schedule. MSG hasn't released the full season, or even October, schedule yet.

Re-posting on page 2 to show that NYR.com has added the Victoria's Cup game:

Some pre-season action in September on MSG:

DateAwayHomeTime
09/20/2008NYROTT7pm
09/22/2008OTTNYR7pm
09/23/2008NYRTBL730pm
09/24/2008NYRNJD7pm
09/25/2008TBLNYR7pm
09/26/2008Rangers Season Preview '08-'09 7pm
09/27/2008NJDNYR2pm
09/30/2008NYRSC BERN10am
10/01/2008NYRMetallurg Magnitogorsk1:45pm

This is just the schedule through September. MSG Network hasn't sent out the complete TV schedule, yet.

Schedule available at http://rangers.nhl.com/team/app?serv...e=TeamSchedule

Update: Well, the game is listed on the site, but not confirmed by MSG Network. I can't imagine they won't show it if they're showing the Bern and Prague games.

Thanks Forechecker. Yeah I can't imagine they bring the whole TV crew to Europe and show all but one of the games, especially if they're already showing one in that arena. Glad to see MSG is finally showing all of the games, home & road.

As far as I know, they are NOT bringing a crew, but using local resources. Not sure if JD um, JOE and Sam will be there or not.

Ah well I can take a little drop in quality (though hopefully there won't be any) as long as we can see the games. I haven't noticed anything different during the Olympics when the announcers weren't in Beijing so I think Sam and Joe could do just as fine from NY as from Prague but we will see.

Ooo, I didn't realize we played TBL in Prague. I didn't really see what team we were playing but we get to see Stamkos play his first official unofficial game in the NHL. I hope we make him look terrible.

Oh noes, I have class during the Metallurg game and the first half hour of SC Bern. I think I'm going to have to get a cheap VCR until I get around to building that DVR...

It looks like afternoon games are a thing of the past. I see only one this year.

Too bad, that's a nice day for the kids.

Screw the kids. If the game matters that much to them they'll stay up and watch it. But since ice cream and popcorn are all that matter to children, you can take them to a movie instead.

hockey games arent meant to be played in the afternoon.. i hate day games and having so many kids in the stands, i think the crowd atmosphere is horrible compared to a night game and a playoff game for the morons over at nbc on a saturday or sunday pisses me off even more!

You're a couple of morons who can't even afford tickets.

My 6yo will still get to more games than both of you.

Knuckleheads.

To a certain extent I have to agree with trapped. IF you HAVE KIDS, then its easier to understand where he is coming from. A couple afternoon games a year, to accommodate family's that are fans is not the end of the world. I like to watch a noon game every now and then and see how the Rangers interact with the kids. Some people may disagree, but remember these kids that they are accommodating by doing earlier games, are the future Rangers fannation.....

and also take a look at the USA youth hockey program. It is very large, full of young kids who idolize teams and their players. Why is it such a big problem to make it easier for a father/mother or both to take a young kid to an afternoon game. I know when I was a kid going to my first Rangers game, it made my year. That's the only game I went to that year, but it was phenomenal as a 6 year old.

well for some people it must not have been a problem because when i was 3 and 4 years old i went to every ranger home game with my dad because he had season tickets and the games started at 730 during those years and i turned out to be even more of a ranger nut then he was.. a couple times of year bringing your kid to a 7 oclock hockey game wont hurt.. but the thing that kills me the most is catering to those idioits at nbc and having hockey games played at 1230 in the afternoon as a lead in to golf or a playoff game being played at 2 in the afternoon as a lead in for a horse race.. i hate that.. i hate afternoon hockey games it doesnt appeal to me at all

I can agree with you on the NBC BS. That is nonsense, and is a reason I wish they would not be given the rights to broadcast the game. But also Im betting that you were fortunate enough to live near NYC growing up. Using myself as an example, I live about 4 hours from the city and have my whole life (Central, NY). As a kid it was much easier to attend Sunday Noon game, and after the game drive back home so my parents did not have to take a day off from work to go to the game. Now a 7:00 start, means the game ends at say 10:00, then add in a 4 hour drive to that, and well you get my point. A couple of noon games a year, imo is a good thing for the fans, and further increases the fanbase in the long run.

Wow that's great news that every preseason game will be on. Great job, MSG.

As for the day games, the Knicks have been phasing them out in recent years too, so I'm not too surprised.
