That's absolutely huge for Rochester and huge for this organization. Our prospects will be being coached by probably the best coach in the Q for the past few years. I thought what he did, guiding Gatineau to the Memorial Cup this year, was pretty amazing. They weren't even the favorites to win their own conference in the Q. Watch, he's going to get a gold medal at the WJC as well.
Don't you think he'll share his information with the new coach? I doubt it'll be a complete waste of time.
I'm sure he will, but I'd rather have the actual coach there at camp (and to pick the camp). Hopefully one of the assistants gets the job over Pat Quinn so the team can atleast have someone running the show who was at summer camp.
From the Panthers side this is probably a good move.
Great signing! I had the opportunity to see this guy totally outcoach my Sags (Q team) a couple of years ago when he had a way weaker team. This guy is for real and will definitely make it to the NHL someday.

Sorry, this strikes me as just an uninformed thing to say.
Option 1: Pick an assistant because they watched these players in Summer Camp.
Option 2: Pick Pat Quinn, who has ALREADY COACHED a number of the Summer Camp kids - Hodgson, Cuma, Teubert, Eberle, Allen, Myers, Ennis, Hamonic, Trivino, O'Dell, Deschamps, Nemisz - at the U18 Championships, in which they won a gold medal.
My family billets a player who was at the U18 Championships and these kids have a huge amount of respect for Pat Quinn. Anyway, Groulx is a great pickup for the Amerks. He'll do a fine job, I'd say.
Groulx is a good signing for a team that is looking to develop players and am glad someone is giving him a shot. He is well known in the Q for getting the most out of his players and because of that it seems like Gatineau has always iced a competitive team year after year which is very hard to do in junior. Groulx is known to be very demanding of his players and runs his teams very, very hard in practice to the point of them vomiting, it will be interesting to see how the pro players react to those kinds of practices.
