Well if the Canucks were to deal Luongo to Ottawa I think it would be better to get Spezza as he is a couple years younger than Heatley, and this would be a starter for a rebuild for Canucks. So then imo would be good idea afterwards to deal the Sedins
(with our without a new extention) for a young scorer and a contingecy of picks/prospects. Then give Hodgson a chance to build as a 2nd line C behind Spezza) Again this would only happen if Luongo wants out of Vancouver.

IMO fair value for Luongo from Ottawa would be Spezza and a 1st and good prospect(ex. Jim O'Brien) or Spezza and Brian Lee.

Luongo is a franchise player going into his prime, so if there isn't a franchise player coming back the other way and another player that helps Vancouver's problem, then this deal would never happen.

You also have to remember that Luongo is one of the top 5 goalies in the league and much harder to come by than franchise forwards.

Heatley and Spezza are both franchise players.

wow, it's interesting that goal scoring forwards are so easy to find and "replace" yet... here we have Vancouver.

You know a deal between Vancouver and Ottawa involving the players mentioned in this thread is not that far-fetched.

I doubt it happens, however, as Luongo is as important to Vancouver as Heatley or Spezza is to Ottawa.

Would Vancouver prefer Spezza or Heatley in a deal for Roberto?
