I have a feeling Fritsche will be a nice surprise.

Depending on how he is used. He may be able to flourish in an offensive role.

Lundqvist, time to show them other goalies who's the king.

Will also be interesting to see how Näslund will fit in with our system, and how Zherdev will do in a new environment.

I'm actually looking forward to Gomer having talented wingers who will play his style so he can prove all of his haters wrong.

I went with Gomer because he is not getting enough love... but I think Redden should have been included in the "prove the haters wrong" category.

I dunno...I'd vote for all of those and add Sanguinetti to "possibly" making the team, but that's just me.

He had a nice article on nhl.com and if I remember correctly so did Staal the summer before he made the team. (maybe a good omen??)

Even if he's in Hartford, I'll get too see what the guy has on a regular basis, unlike when he's playing in the OHL. Can't wait to see the twisted wrista from the point on the PP.

When's the last time the Rangers really had a young, dynamic forward entering his prime like Zherdev? I can't really think of one since the MO of the Rangers was always to sign free-agent veterans past their primes.

Kovalev is the last person I can think of....

Zman.

What i'm not looking forward to is the 'fans' and their impatience if he starts slow.

yea first 10 games zherdev gets only 3 assists, and everyone will want him traded for a draft pick

Could argue for Bure. He was 29/30 when he came here coming off two incredible back to back seasons. Those injuries were terribly unfortunate.

Zherdev is my choice. I really hope he can show his stuff as a Ranger, but i must say that his motivation and bad attitude is worrying me a lot.

Also have to mention Drury. I know i have been hard on him before, but im sincerely hoping that he will make his contract look a little better this year. More often than not he was painful to watch last year IMO.

agreed. people think he is going to be a 50-50-100 guy but in reality, hes not a true sniper. hes more of a 40-40 player, or a 30-35 player.

I guess I'll go with Naslund. Him being in Van all those yrs, I've never really watched him much. Plus, see if all the crap the haters were talking about is true or not.

I don't know how I feel going into this season. Very mixed feeling about no Jagr, Avery, Shanny, etc. I just hope this team isn't soft as charmin, I can't take that. And, we have to got at least .500 against the debbies, can't lose the series to them after taking 15 of 16 from them, and the PO series.

He does have the talent to be a 90+ point player, but I'd say he's more of a 25/30G - 50/55A player. Which is something I'd be thrilled to have on this team.
