Same.. the last time we had any kind of decent enforcer was in the Nilan days. When is the last time we had a real heavyweight?

I still remember the Downey days...

Perfect 4th liner on a contender.

I watch as many games through the road teams broadcast as through RDS due to travelling, and Lapierre already has himself a reputation in the East.

I remember the Ottawa colour guy being incensed at Lapierre for drawing two penalties in a period. He sounded like he wanted to go down there and fight Max himself, calling him a coward, a chicken, and saying that he doesn't play a man's game. The play by play guy responded with "Well, it works".

Although his fight with PJ Axelsson was embarassing.

Oh you're bringing back a lot of great memories Pascal. I really miss having a player like Knuckles on our team.

Plus with Laraque, not only is he a true heavy weight. He's the current heavy weight champ of the league.

Yeah that was quite embarrassing. Hopefully the added weight will help eliminate that problem in the future.

However, from what I know about diets and friends that are personal trainers, the easiest fact about training is that if you train early in the day, instead of at night, you get the entire day to also burn off energy. Therefore, instead of you sleeping on your workout, you're using it through the day. It burns more calories, and allows your food to get into your system and not turn into fat. You also get that little extra bit of workout just through life.

I used to work out late as well, and the most bulk I'd gain is fat muscle (you know, where when you wear a shirt you look like a chubby kid, but you swear at the gym you looked ripped...) but when I moved my workouts to the early morning, plus played hockey later in the day? It was like getting two huge workouts a day without feeling it in the morning. You see results.

I just need to get back into it...
It's insanely difficult for me, because by the time gym opens, I'm in classes. I'll be working out relatively earlier.. around 4-5 PM instead of 7 when school starts up again.

Yes, because we all know Chips is known for his speed and offensive ability, so naturally he'd be on the 2nd line.....

Chips is a shutdown centre. He'll be on the 3rd line.

I know the feeling. Starting this September I have to work out around 5am. Find a 24/7 Club, its the best way to go. I'd suggest working out like a mad man for a few months then settling on something easier but keeping up your diet, that way you might lose a bit of definition but you'll stay in shape for the most part.

He should take his visor off though, he is playing on a 4th line and is expected to back up his words and have a reputation, not riding a motocycle...

Diet is what will bulk you up. You have to fallow a high carb intake diet if you want to maximize mass gain. Having your good hours of sleep is also important.

But I can give you a sick workout, you'll never have been sore like that in your life before.

I agree to an extent. The last ten years, the team has lacked true policemen. But, the early nineties, we had some tough teams. Ewen and Odelein were a tough pair in the cup year. Brashear, Roberge and Odelein held fort for awhile. After that, it was bleak. Vukota, Blouin, Dwyer, old Odjick and Downey were poor at best.

People always forget Darren Langdon, but he was really good, always stood up for his teammates, knew what to do and never lost a fight.
