I wonder if Gainey has a contract with Eklund..

Cause after Gainey's comments, we all know how many hits Eklund is going to generate.

Ain't that the Schneider that used to play here? Why did we ship away him anyway?

Wait wasn't gainey one of the people that came out criticizing burke for his blog during trade deadline on nhl.com. He's not going to deal with big bad brian burke.

He's one of the many guys speculated about just because it seems to make sense, 1 year left, Anaheim has to meet the cap. I don't know if it's speculation being reported on or something that has been discussed.

To get Turgeon.

As I said earlier today...if the Ducks want to absolutely send him to the Eastern Conference, we are the most logical fit. The Habs are really the only non-rebuilding team in the East that can take on Schneider's 5.6 M salary without needing to send some salary back ANA's way. Everyone else is either capped out or too close to their self imposed budget to just fit that big salary in.

For one of the best players in the NHL at the time.

05-Apr-95: Montreal Canadiens traded Craig Darby, Kirk Muller and Mathieu Schneider to the New York Islanders for Pierre Turgeon and Vladimir Malakhov.

Well I would think Bouillon or Dandenault would be going the other way to same a bit of cap room

Okay, nevermind it's Eklund... we've all been speculating about that one for weeks now.

I really wouldn't mind Schneider back with the Habs.
*as long as we keep Patrick Roy away from Montreal until Mathieu's contract expires*

He would bring offense to the PP to replace Streit. He's very good with a quick transition game, a good first pass, and he's much better than Streit defensively. He's still very good offensively, knows Carbo and Gainey, has extensive playoff experience, and has played on both sides of the ice. Yes, he's old, but from what I saw from him last year, he's still got a lot of juice in the tank and would fit very well as a top 4 guy alongside Hammer.

We would have a very good top 4. Now only thing that would remain is to figure who will take a bump. O'byrne being the most likely, could Bouillon be heading to Anaheim in the tradeoff? As this would but Gorges and O'Byrne on the same pairing (which would be a better fit than Bouillon-Gorges) and get them used to play together as Bouillon might end-up elsewhere after this season.

Markov-Komisarek
Hamrlik-Schneider
Gorges-O'Byrne

I really like the sound of that, even if it's only for one season.

he is a good shooter from the right point, adequate defensively and the $ isn't relevant if Sundin is off the table.

There's no need to trade for schiender. Everyone knows burke needs to shed his salary so he will get fed up with the lowball offers and just put him on waivers like he did with bryzgalov.

Why the hell are you posting on our board? I've seen you insult Hab fans to no end. Lord Chezz would know what to tell you.

The word 'Eklund' should really be in the thread title.
