Scott Gomez

To NY Rangers:

Erik Christensen
Bryan Little

Assuming Sundin is in the mix of course.

Bryan Little is going to be a stud. The Rangers take this and run, although I don't support the idea of trading Gomez.

It hasn't been made public as far as I know. I believe Atlanta being one of the 3 teams is just speculation on Gong's part.

Hey Gomer you were so happy to be signing in New York so thrilled to be part of such a historical franchise, but now we want to send you to one of the worst teams in the league, with little history and even less successful history, you likely wont make the playoffs and the market is pretty small, how bout waiving that ntc. Some Ranger fan around here has that quote from Gomez as his signature about how being a Ranger is what he was meant to be and where he belonged, you think hes going to give up that to be on the Thrashers?

Lol if he was on the Thrashers do you really think he would be saying yes this is where I belong, I am an Atlanta Thrasher. Even if he was just talking out of his ass, it doesnt change the fact that I strongly doubt he would waive his NTC to go to Atlanta and he would have to be an idiot if he did.

Considering now that he has his long term big money contract it isnt about him liking $$$ and it isnt about going wherever gives him the most. He has a team he likes being associated with who has to pay him the exact same amount as any other team in the league so why give up being in a situation he wants to be in? once he is on an open market again then how much he likes money can come into effect but now its irrelevant for many years.

What a great trade.......Let's send 2 studs in the making in Little and Christensen and also a 1st in 2010 for an old semi- broken down player. Great trade!!!!!!!

Not sure why Atlanta would give up three good young assets for an overpaid Gomez.

Yes, because if there were 2 terms that could describe Gomez, they would be "old" and "broken down."

Can someone please tell me when 28 became old?

28 years old. Has missed 10 games once, the season before last, and 6 twice, in 01/02 and 00/01.

Try "in his prime and pretty durable."

Personally I think it was a mistake that Atlanta did not re-sign Savard.

Maybe 5 Million was a little bit too much at the time but now with the Meszaros offer sheet and jeff Finger, 5 million for Savard to set up Kovalchuk is a great signing in my opinion. Using that money on Holik was dumb.
