And seriously no tape? just wax... can you even shoot?
I bet if you took off some of that wax you'll shoot much better.
I said wax on a naked blade.
We put candle wax on our taped sticks 30 years ago.

Yes, there was some second degree, call it bad sarcasm if you want.

And why should I shoot better without wax? It's there for better control. I can shoot with a naked blade, tape, only wax and waxed tape.

Some players just tape their blades on 3-4", the rest is wax applied directly on the blade.

Whatever works for you.

If you need wax to help you control the puck, you might want to invest in some stick handling lessons.

When I use wax, I use it on the bottom of the blade so the tape doesn't wear down as fast.

Replace "wax" by "tape" and go tell this to 99% of the NHL players.

We have a guy called James on our team who always always always asks for stick tape and leg tape. BUY YOUR OWN...hope he reads this one day!

Really annoys me!

Okay, so you don't use tape on your stick?

And I'm sure 100% of NHL players use tape on their stick.

No, someone said, that if you need wax to have better puck control, you should get stickhandling lessons. What do you put tape on for?

I said 99% because you never can be sure. There was a time when I saw some players who did not use tape in the league I played.

To the original poster: try it, it works for some guys. You might like it or you might not. I don't use tape anymore, that's all. Surf wax works well for me.
