How did I troll?

I dont think he can compete either. But Denis certainly isnt competing for a backup role.

Halak > Sanford but neither are that bad.

Schneider > Denis though.

I thought today it would be Price vs Luongo, but alas, I was wrong, as I see we have moved on to Halak vs Sanford.

Mats: "I don't know JP, I really like Montreal.....and I really like Vancouver......but who has the better backup?"
I'll really be disappointed if one of these doesn't turn into Roger Takahashi vs Pierre Poutine or whoever Montreal's equivalent is.

He's going to retire and Vancouver - Montreal will play just twice this season. There's no point arguing about essentially nothing.

If the person with 7 posts in a row is who it is, thanks for not quoting them so I don't have to read what they say.

So August has come and gone, and Sundin has made his second misstep. His first, was not announcing that he was going to take his time prior to July 1st. Buy waiting for offers to come in from teams other than Montreal (namely, the Canucks), expectation was raised and the media frenzy really took off. He probably hasn't been too bothered by the media frenzy whilst fishing, but for some people on message boards frustrated with him, when their frustration should be directed at media.

His second misstep, adding to the media frenzy, was giving the soft "Late July or August" deadline, which has now past. Once again it raised expectations and increased speculation, which frustrated some people. If Sundin makes the announcement that he is taking his time sooner, doesn't give a soft deadline, and doesn't have Barry talking to everyone with a microphone or notepad the Sundin situation would be no different than that of Joe Sakic's, except with more frenzy from the sports media due to the Canadian teams involved.

As a Habs fan, I hope Gainey waits until training camp opens. If Sundin doesn't sign by then, take the offer off the table and look elsewhere. Until then I'm willing to be patient.

Why the personal insults?

As much as I disagree with the guy, it's not a Hossa/Montreal thread.

I just need to say that I hate Mats Sundin. I used to like him. That's probably the worst part. Thank-you.

Here's an interesting tidbit dropped by Burke a couple of days ago in a radio interview. Burke said that Sundin's agent told him that 7 teams are in the running for Sundin. So which word from Barry's mouth is true, 6 or 7?
7 until detroit threw the towel.
