Next game that will be shown online is Sept 10 against Metallurg Magnitigorsk.

I'll be posting links to the broadcasts here http://www.beyondtheblueshirts.com/a...-2009-schedule as I come across them. I'll try to post them here on the day of the game as well, but sometimes (like this morning ) I get pulled immediately into a meeting or onto a conference call. So hopefully someone else can keep an eye out and post them if I don't.

For those who missed today's game live, it looks like they've already got it up to re-watch: http://video.sportbox.ru/VidySporta/...domskajaoblast

Really does sound like the Rangers of old...

Well, if they're not going to play Cherepanov and other guys, I guess they won't mind if he joins the Rangers next year!

I find the lack of ice time for Cherepenov interesting. Maybe Sather has another card up his sleeve afterall.

Like what ? Are you saying that maybe Cherepanov isn't on the ice much so he doesn't risk getting injured, or that maybe he's coming over this year despite his contractual obligations?

I'm saying stranger things have happened.

I dont think he would blow off his contract. But he could be released from his contract if all parties came to some agreement. They would be wary of bad PR from letting a budding star go, but a kid who sits on the bench 3/4 of the game?

Of course there is the question if he would make the Rangers team.

Its' definitely possible. This whole arrangement of a "partner club" with Omsk is a little shady. Both clubs are getting something out of it and obviously our main interest from them is Cherepanov. Jagr was there main interest from us, but now that he's with Omsk, what do they want from us in the future?

Wow that light show was something you would see at the opening ceremony of the Olympics. Maybe even better.

I'm not familiar with the whole Omsk roster, but if Cherry was in NY and got no ice time on Opening night people would be pissed and puzzled.

I doubt most fans would be pissed or puzzled. Most don't know a lot about the guy.

Omsk fans probably just want to see Jagr right now, and some of the other big names Omsk got. CHerepanov hasn't proven himself a superstar yet

It gets on my nerves a little that Cherepanov is not getting ice time.

He had a very impressive preseason.

The reason it gets on my nerves is because if they are not going to develop him, cut him, and let us develop him.

He could spend the year on Drury's wing. Or in Hartford on Anisimov's wing.

It seems like an utter waste of talent and time if he stays there and gets this treatment.

I love Jagr, he was my favorite Ranger, but does Omsk use more then one line, or what? You'd think a hockey team wants more then one scoring unit.

I totally agree...whether that is even possible is another thing.

However, I'd be very happy with that outcome if it were to happen.

Also, it was the season opener...so I think we'll need to watch a few more games to start assuming whether he's not going to be playing or not.

Maybe they just wanted to showcase Jagr...

.

So it seems that for Jagr, nothing has really changed in terms of the team funneling it's offence through him?

Double shifting, dominating the PP while othe rplayers get a paltry 30 seconds of garbage time?

A lack of scoring cause everyone is dishing him the puck?

All the while what we hoped would happen (and still may) that Jagr would mentor the kid (Cherry) has turned into more of a situation where the kid is watching more than doing?

At thsi age, sitting on the bench and not plying his craft WILL NEVER MAKE HIM A BETTER PLAYER and since that league is not interested on any level whatsoever in developing it's youngsters, my guess is that this will continue all year.

Omsk has hitched it's wagon to Jagr, which will prove to be a big mistake.

Just send Cherry over to us and let us polish the rest of the development off cause we all know it's not going to happen in the KHL

At last, a voice of reason! Let's wait a couple more games (and make sure he wasn't hurt) before we declare that Cherepanov's going to rot away on the bench all season.

so I was having a sleepless night so I got up and went downstairs to watch some tennis from NYC but...surfing channels I got Planeta Sports (the Russian spotchannel) and they were showing the game in HD.

decent game...but thought Jagr was very low key....

The Russians are serious about putting on a show....certainly beats the Swiss league.

And all of this time he spent in first period and half of second period. Must be some minor injure.

I saw like 10 minutes of the replay and though "groin" right away. He had problems skating from the get go. Took short and stabby strides.

Groin problem at the start of the season is nothing to worry about. These days players starts to skate a long time before they get to the NHL camps -- but counting all time I am sure 80% of the players are forced to take days of because of groin problems early in the season.
