Still hate the Redden signing?

I would've rather had McCabe than Rozsival. Much rather, to be honest.

This kind of sucks to hear about, to be honest.

shorter contract.... cap hit that's gone in like 2 years... a contract year coming up, plus something to prove this year. I wanted him on the Devils.

Based on what?

McCabe is much more physical. Has about as good of defense (if you actually watch the guy, you can see that he still can play good defense). And his offense is a clear step above.

There's nothing that Rozsival really does that stands out from McCabe to warrant taking him over McCabe.

Not a huge McCabe fan and wouldn't say he's an upgrade over Rozsival or Redden, both of which will still be younger than Bryan when ALL of these contracts end anyway.

cap hit is done in 3 years.

Redden is a billion times better than McCabe, particularly defensively.

I just don't like McCabe's attitude. Like when he scored an own goal in OT. Just let it go man. Rozsival is a more complete player IMO. Plus it is better to stay the same with the same or better assets then letting Rosy go and getting McCabe.

Damn!

I would of much rather have Nigel Dawes on the Leafs than Van Ryn.

So Bryan just agreed to his move less then a few weeks back. He provided a list of teams he would go to.. That somehow now turns into that he agreed to move to the Rags months ago?

I won't necessarily say that McCabe blows, but both Rozsival and Redden are better defenseman, no question. They are also younger and without NTC's.

Sometimes I can't understand the Rozsy hate around here... yeah he's not perfect, but he has been the Rangers' best overall D-man since he came aboard.

i still like the redden signing....IMO he is the better overall player....he has a much better first pass and although not as physical isnt prone to the bonehead plays.....

when it comes to rozsival or mccabe.....rozsival is younger, healthier, and is already accustomed to NYC.....he is the winner on that one....also, rozsival is better defensively then mccabe, the only thing mccabe has on both of them is his shot

I always would've liked to have seen him on the Rangers. Especially the small price that Florida payed for him.

I think there is allot of things Rozsival does that McCabe couldn't even dream off... During the lockout McCabe was the 7th D on a SEL team before he decided that it was too much of a embaressment and bolted home...

Sure he can be useful and I even think I had him as a option in June.

But he got no mobility whatsoever and its not like he is of any use whatsoever with the puck other then when he fires away. I wouldn't have minded if we brought him in to play like with Sangs for example. Like you said he got some qualitys.

But you are leaving out some fundamental aspects of the game when you say that McCabe can do anything Rozsival can...

I used to be a McCabe fan. Liked when he was younger, when he hit everything, when he fought, etc. I don't remember that same player the last few seasons. He seemed to come around offensively, mostly on the PP, but I thought his defense was lacking. Sure he hit more than Rozsival and Redden, but so would Brad Brown. While I love the hitting style of game, I'm more concerned with effectiveness than seeing hitting (however pathetic that may sound, but that's where the game's at today). Plus, it wasn't like he was hitting any more than Toots or Girardi. Finally, what Rozsival may be lacking in terms of offense and hitting he makes up for in net takeaways. I remember McCabe as a turnover machine.

Pass on McCabe. Not a fan of his play. If u think he's better then rozy. Then I'm glad ur not the GM. He makes turnovers. MAYBE better offencivly. But he plays defence. And rozy is much better. How can u hate a guy who was our number 1 defencmen 3 years in a row n we made the playoffs every year?

McCabe is a defensive liability........Rozsival has played solid for the Rangers for 3 years now

Redden is better than people are giving him credit....the PP will be Waaay better with that combo

Leaf fans could not have been happier to get rid of mccabe, so im pretty glad we didn't end up with him, maybe a change of scenery will do him some good, maybe not. Regardless I'd rather have rozy than him

I don't like McCabe much. Yes, I have watched him (a good bit), and I don't think he's much of a defender anymore.

I think that a contract like Redden's is the reason why I wanted to take a chance on McCabe at the deadline in April.
