This is a fun thread, you can go as outrageous as you want or you can be conservative with free agents. Just like the topic says. Your team roster in 5 years
Seabrook - Keith
Barker - Campbell
Hendry - Hjalmarsson
Lalonde
Crawford
Unice
I chose not to include any free agents. Chicago have a lot of prospects at forward so i just basically chose the ones i thought have the best potential to make the NHL. However i'm sure that different Hawks fans will have different opinions on which prospects will be on the team.
Just going with prospect depth, someone who's wife is from Long Island coming back during the homestretch of his career, and one optimistic addition at first-line center if we have a bad season in 08-09.
Lubimor Visnovksy*-Tom Gilbert*
Taylor Chorney-Jeff Petry
*- Have 5+ year deals
Only issue is money- with this being 5 years in the future, the cheap contracts of Gagner, Cogliano, Eberle, Brule, O'Marra, Nash, Chorney and Petry will be over. I ultimately think we'll need to decide between one of Cogs or Gagner.
Dumont*-Arnott*-Hörnqvist
Erat-Legwand-Jones
Spaling-Wilson-Pihlström
Tootoo-Geoffrion-Thuresson
Peverley, McKenzie (he may or may not be our enforcer)
Weber-Suter
Blum-Hamhuis
Josi-Laakso
Dietrich
Pickard
Dekanich
*Arnott and Dumont are the faces of the franchise and love it here in Nashville, so I suspect they sign new contracts to make themselves Predators for the remainder of their careers unless they're just desperate to win a Cup.
It's a pretty conservative projection, but the Predators have drafted well enough that they can build almost exclusively from within now, with an occasional free agent injection. I think that's the route they take.
This, of course, does not account for any players that will be drafted between now and 2013, so this is definitely subject to change.

Alzner - Green
Lepisto - Carlson
Schultz - Godfrey
Varlamov
Neuvirth
Obviously there would be FA's sprinkled in, but that's a potential lineup including only guys drafted (or developed, in Laich's case) by the Caps and in the system now.
Marco Sturm - Patrice Bergeron - Phil Kessel
Milan Lucic - David Krejci - Carl Soderberg
Joe Colborne - Vladimir Sobotka - Brad Marchand
Petterri Nokelainen - Zach Hamill* - Martins Karsums
Zdeno Chara** - Dennis Wideman
Matt Lashoff - Mark Stuart
Andrew Bodnarchuk - Tommy Cross
Tuukka Rask
Kevin Regan
* I don't see Zach Hamill ever being a 4th liner, but he can't play Wing so I just couldn't find anywhere to fit him in.
Alex Tanguay - Tomas Plekanec - Andrei Kostitsyn
Max Pacioretty - Christopher Higgins - Sergei Kostitsyn
Guillaume Latendresse - Maxim Lapierre - Danny Kristo
Gregory Stewart - Kyle Chipchura - Ben Maxwell
Andrei Markov - Mike Komisarek
Ryan McDonagh - Ryan O'Byrne
David Fischer - Josh Gorges
Carey Price
Jaroslav Halak
I know that this wont be our team though, the Defense and Goaltending are awesome but the forwards lack alot. Oh well, No flaming, I tried

I think the forwards are fine, if you organize 'em right. Here's my take:
With FAs counted, hopefully there would be an addition at center. The D is a bit tough to predict, with Gorges, Valentenko, Fischer, Weber, Carle, O'byrne and Subban all battling for spots. Oh, and possibly Emelin too, cripes.
Outstanding goaltending, great and deep D, excellent depth and quality on the wings. Good checking centers, but lacking in scoring centers. Hopefully a UFA or the 1st rounder in 09 could fix that up.
