i agree with this line of thought. redden for 6 years has disaster written all over it. lucky for our team, money don't mean **** and he doesn't have an nmc, so if he sucks it up we can just stash him in hartford....you know, like the last overpaid defenseman to wear #6.

You make it sound like 3 more years for McCabe is some kind of no-miss opportunity.

I'll take my chances on 37 year old Redden before 36 year old McCabe.

I wish we had neither and tried to make a good trade for Bouwmeester.

Problem is trading for Bouwmeester would've taken quite a bit in assets (then again, it's the Florida Panthers ) probably a defensemen, which might've then not less us trade for Zherdev. Considering how desperate we are for a game-breaking forward, I'd prefer Redden and Zherdev (even w/ the question marks) to just Bouwmeester.

Wade has always been leaps and bounds better than McCabe in terms of defensive ability and passing. The only thing McCabe has more is physicality (slightly, Redden is no pansy) and a canon of a shot. We already have a canon of a shot at the point, problem is he never uses it (Rozsival)

Small price? Van Ryn would basically equate to Girardi.

That's not a small price to pay, Jon.

I agree with that, if I had to choose one or the other @ the deadline, in an off season trade or free agency, I pass on both

I'll answer for you now - he hates it, and he wants Renney fired. See, now you don't have to respond in a couple of months
