Man they really screwed up the salaries. Gonchar's salary is up to 6m now and apparently Redden and Timonen are the top paid defencemen in the league at 8m. Not to mention Malkin cost's only 900k.
Not sure about Redden, but Timonen is making $8 mil and Gonchar $6 mil. That's because those are the actual salaries and not the cap hits. Same for Malkin whose actual salary is $984,000 but his cap hit is well into the millions because of bonuses.
My suggestion is to buy a hockey magazine like Mckeen's 2008-2008 hockey pool yearbook. There is a list of more than 300 players all listed in order of projected points.
It's an excellent read and the predictions are known to be pretty accurate. Trust me, I won my hockey pool last year, and Mckeen's magazine played a huge part in my victory
