Has anyone ever played at Madison Square Garden?

If I make my Varsity hockey team for high school I will play at MSG this year before a Ranger game, I was wondering who else has had this experience of skating on MSG ice?

I almost got to play at the pond in Anaheim, my high school coach was a former NHL player and GM and is good friends with Brian Burke. The year the Ducks won the cup, if they played San Jose in the playoffs we were going to play a team from Northern California as a way to promote hockey in California. Too bad SJ lost to DET.

I did get to skate at the Hartford Civic center back when the Whalers were still around.

When I was about 8 or so, I played a game of roller hockey at the what is now the Izod center, right before the old Rockin Rollers.

If you're young enough, they offer seating packages geared towards youth hockey that allow the kids an hour of ice time before the game or in between periods. PM for info if you want to know more.

I guess when i was around 17 i played in the Wild's rink for a NARCh roller hockey national tournament. That was pretty cool. Im sure it wouldnt compare to paying on MSG ice though

Yea I played in 2003 for HS, a word of advice...the refs do not call penalties. One of my teamates wanted to be "in the sin bin" so he turned into a lumberjack and was hacking away. Finally after about 1-2 solid minutes of this the ref finally blew the whistle and instead of going to the box he had to sit out by the Zamboni entrance since no one was there to operate the doors.

Aside from that, it is pretty awe inspiring the shear size of it.

Enjoy it, by the way when I play it was full running time so it goes by quick, and you feel somewhat short changed.
