OT - Listeria alert!

Please read this first: You have choices in life. Taking yourself too seriously isn't the one I chose. For those with no sense of humour, those who take things the wrong way, please skip this thread as it's not for you. This is meant as humour, not of the victims, but just like good old jokes the ones about war, about ethnics, about religion (read catholic priests amongst others) and about other very serious matters in life...

Be sure to throw out all Maple Leaf products as a precaution against Listeria.

Agreed, but I posted it elsewhere and a couple of jerks decided to make a big issue out of it. I thought the disclaimer was needed unfortunately...

There's a problem with the meat coming from the Maple Leafs factory. The OP told a joke about avoiding anything related to the Maple Leafs...

Nicely played.

i have as much of a sense of humor as anyone....but honestly if you think this is funny...you need help especially considering how it is still fresh in everyone's mind.

I hope for you, you don't know anyone who does get ill or die from it...we could still hear about new cases for another 8 weeks or so as it could take 3 months before someone goes ill

It's simple. When I don't like a topic, I skip it. All you have to do is do the same.

The funny part of this thread isn't the joke itself, which isn't all that funny, but the fact that the TS is fighting to defend his joke even though it's really not that great

I'm not fighting to "defend the joke" as you say. As a matter of fact, I'm not fighting at all. I'm simply answering questions.

Coincidently, the Leafs and Maple Leaf foods are both owned by the very same Ontario Teachers Pension Plan.

This is going off the rails....

The joke was creative IMO, but now we're just getting into bickering back and forth whether we should or shouldn't be offended by it.... and it was dying on the vine before we started that.
