so if he looks like he lost 20 pounds and only lost around 5, he must have turned lots of fat into muscle huh?

lmao whys latendresse in this poll honestly? do we seriously have that big of expectations for a 3rd line winger? no hate towards him but id say maybe Kovalev or AK46 people that people expect to be good should be in this poll

That's the only way to really see what Latendresse has accomplished in the offseason. I'll watch him closely when hockey is back and judge for myself because I don't always believe what is written in the newspapers.

Hopefully he will prove me wrong.

The season hasn't started, let's start looking for a goat?

Good thread. Gives us an idea of which posters will be handing out mindless criicism before even one game. Also, it gives some posters the chance to bring up the "damn french media", something which we are really lacking on this board.

Contract year. Sergei in front of him. He'll be ready and hungry.

Which show? I don't remember that.

As for the mask, it's a nice idea but it's a little bit to "empty" IMO.

Are you insinuating that the "French media" is not some homogeneous community and that it's members should be evaluated individually on their merits? If that is the idea you're putting forward, it's going to be awfully difficult to make sweeping generalizations around here.

Did it ever really stop?

Edit: I'm disappointed that we're on page two of a goat thread and no one has made a reference to mcphee or clover.

I have a bad feeling about Markov for the beginning of the season... Don't know... I'm just worried about the way he played in the playoffs.

Well, if he's as strong as last year, he'll skate faster. It's just logic, since he's going to be lighter.

But I don't know how he can be the "goat" this year, he already is one on these boards.

Like I said earlier, Markov worries me a bit, but I think some fans will, as usual, throw rocks at Kovalev if he gets 83 points or less.

Read what I wrote above. 20 pounds was what McGuire said just by looking at Lats and guessing. Latendresse only really lost 5 pounds.

I can't find the article to back me up but I remember reading that..

No matter what, it's going to be Koivu.
He can bring home the Cup and people will still be bashing him.

Very stupid pole imo on so many different levels...

If you wanna do something like this, at least, put a lot more options or put choices like dandeneault or lapierre...

Before I give my choices I think if its our # 14 forword or our possible #7 defensemen i'll be very ok with that. As for my choices I think 5 guys are very possible to get targetted by the media french or english.

If our #1 powerplay gets off to a slow start and drops in the lower half of the teams i can see either one or both of Markov or Kovalev.

If Ryan O'Bryne struggles in his zone I sure some media might be calling for a replacement.

If C Price has a slow start and more so if Huet is doing great in Chicago I can see him have tough time.

The name that came to mind when reading the topic was our new enforcer. If BGL play is average and has not had a fight in 10 games I can see some of the guys on 110% asking why is Dandy not replacing him in the lineup. And with BGL and his radio conversation after missing the golf tournament i can see him having a lil extra attention from the media this year.
