Tortorella will last 2 months at the most and I am being generous. It is the time that it will take for an NHL team to fire its head coach.

Wait until you hear him say ''et compte'' or ''et le but''. He use the same type of voice for it...

Joel Bouchard is the greatest addition of all. And if it means that he could possibly replace Brunet after the latest 3-year contract, well I'm all for it (a guy can dream, OK?).

J. Bouchard has this way of explaining things clearly and objectively, with a good analysis. Plus, he goes one step further in his explaination, something that is good to hear for real hockey fans.

BTW, I don't know if you've noticed, but Pedneault was always very critical of a lot of Habs players. Gélinas and Pedneault didn't sound like Hab fans. Actually, Pedneault sounded very much like a closet Sens fan.

What it boils down to, is that RDS could've found people who were more closely related to the Habs scene, or Habs history. Bringing in the supreme Koivu/European hater outside of Don Cherry, and bringing in the Kovalev basher, and both are guys who were known in the past to dislike the Habs... I know money talks, but good gawd, RDS could've done way better than that.

My opinion is controversial. Does it mean I shouldn't have an opinion?

Remember, stick and stones an'all that crap, right?
You have all rights to have an opinion, all I meant is that you are usually less offensive/aggresive then today...

I was referring to Demers and brunet (the biased thing), since bergeron will to a similar job then what they did last year. Pednault, as analyst, must be critical, and we'll see how Brunet respond to that.

As for gagnon, well it is your opinion, I think he is a good one and worth a chance, maybe I'll change my mind before november but for now I think he is one of the few respectable sport journalist in MTL

Yeah I almost forgot, good answer for the 15 years ago, what I wanted to say is that people change in 15 years, and you can not judge someone for the job he was doing that long ago. especially a journalist

So basically:

* Houde and Brunet broadcasting the action.

* Y. Bouchard hosting the intermission show with Demers and J. Bouchard. With Bergeron and then Gagnon having each a regular segment during the intermission (doesn't say if it's both intermissions).

* Bergeron will be on the Saturday night post-game show with Chantal.

* Gagnon will make an appearance on Sports 30 on game nights.

Agreed on Bouchard. I really enjoyed his hockey show with NHL French Canadian players. He seems quite level headed and funny.

As for Bergeron, an ex-Nordiques who has always hated the Habs' guts and for not giving him the job instead of Jacques Demers to coach the team, and with Gagnon, a Senator at heart, expect them to pick-up where Pedneault left off in the negativity department towards the team and management...

And Alain Crête will host a talk show later in the evening on week days I guess. Kinda like a 110% I think.

yeah sorry about that, just living a lot of personal dramas in the last few weeks and my tolerance level is like non-existent.

Yeah, but even then, what I mentioned about both of them (Bergeron = Koivu/European basher and Gagnon = Kovy basher) is very recent. My opinion of them also stems from their stint on 110% and that is all sorts of beh.

Tortorella could be amazing, if he's as frank as he was as a coach and doesn't overdo it like McGuire (whom I like by the way overall) or Milbury.

I've met Ray at the BC Hockey Hall of Fame dinner when he got inducted and he's a very good speaker and he knows his hockey. He'll be great.

Never heard him do color for a full game...but Oilers fans are pissed he's leaving, so he can't be any worse than Healy.

about time RDS gets that concept back to their studios.

As long as gaston terrien is not invited, I might give this show a try...

Gagnon is pretty much taking Flynn's spot at Sports 30 which is, IMO, the best news of the offseason.

...when he does sports. He replaced Paul Arcand for a while this summer and was out of his element, badly.

We don't have the same tastes.

Crete...

I hate his coldness.

I hate that he has never anything new to say.

I hate that he's a poor analyst at everything.

I hate that when describe matchs he's the most boring individual ever.

I hate that he's always negative like he's some sort of crazy person muttering to himself.

I hate that he never smile.

I hate that never compliment anybody.

I hate that he never has a positive outlook like a good host.

Alain Crete is the image of a cold fish and he and Demers have been the worst between periods team-up in the history of televised hockey.

Agreed. This guy has been the most impressive raising star i've seen in a while in french hockey description. His view on things is absolutly incredible.

I hate to say this but Bouchard will shame Demers.

I wholeheartly disagree. Mathias Brunet is great; Gagnon THINKS of himself God's gift to journalism. Don't be fooled but all the artifices and statistics he often throws left and right. The guy cannot come up with his own opinions. I would put you to task next time you read an article written by him to look where you've read or heard that before. Same with his comments on tv.

I agree with you, Bergeron will not be surrounded by ass clowns like Rinfret, Villeneuve and Bureau this time, it's the big league. And while I absolutely hate his arrogance and selfishness, sometimes he's able to be so level-headed when explaining things, it's, as you say, really entertaining and insightful.

Gagnon, sometimes I find annoying, but he doesn't have Rejean Tremblay to stir **** up around him, at least not in RDS... (that would be a nightmare to see RDS hire RJ...). He's calm and poised, and always have alot of interesting stuff to say...

Bouchard I completely agree, I can't wait to listen to this guy !

Some other guys I've liked in their short stints were Marc Denis and Patrick Lalime, well-spoken and well-thought.

I sure hope they toss Luc Gelinas away and put Renaud Lavoie in a greater role, cause on ice level, Lavoie is wayyyyyyy better IMO.

I highly doubt we see Joel Bouchard on RDS this season because he has been named an assistant coach with the Montreal Juniors of the QMJHL.

He just said that with his different engagements, he won't be with the Junior all the time. He's not going on the road.

Sounds to me that he's more part time with the Junior.....
