I'm a Philly fan who spent 6 years living just outside NY and now 4 years outside Boston.

Mike and the Mad Dog, and WFAN in general, are just so much better than the sports talk you get in Philadelphia or Boston. It's just not even close. At least most of the hosts are reasonably likely to be able to discuss the NFL games not involving the local teams intelligently. Here in Boston, you could have two 15-0 NFC teams playing in week 17, and you would be likely to get 15 minutes of coverage in total.

When it comes to sports talk, WFAN is on top in the Northeast, and it's not close.

I remember the 94 playoffs, they talked a lot about hockey. That was the last time they really ever talked about the Rangers except when Sather was hired and when the Lindros signing was announced.

I'm fine with them not covering hockey. In fact I would prefer they never cover it.

That's better than them mocking the idea of covering it or butchering the two or three times a year they do cover it.

Entertaining interview. I'd urge any Russo fans to catch it on the Howard 100 replays throughout the day.

His show starts next Monday on 123.

Eh, seemed like it was like an hour long, but I'll try. Talked about NY sports and why he wasn't a bigger NY sports fan, particularly NYY. Talked a little bit of sports with Artie and Gary, couldn't relate to how or why Howard wasn't a bigger sports fan. I'm sure the sports stories have probably been heard on his show before.

Talked about the weird relationship between himself and Mike behind the scenes. Did say has not spoke to him since the last show.

Talked about his family and own beliefs, particularly when Howard asked him about "working blue" now that he is on an unscensored media format. Said he wouldn't, but did do a funny call of "Giants ffff........********ing Win!!!!!!!"

Covered some of what he wants the show and channel to be and cover and said he was really excited about covering a more broad scope of sports topics than he has in the past.

Probably some other highlights that bigger M&M fans would have picked out. Since I'm not a fan, I wasn't looking that forward to the interview, but got to see a side of him I never really knew.

It's hard for me to believe those clowns actually had "fans." I mean, I listened to the show because it was on, but I always hated those two.

Wait for inter-operable radios before you buy equipment, hopefully October. You can get a Sirius online only subscription if you're dying to listen Monday.
